About Our Institution
KIOT Trust is the combination of 22 Academicians in Engineering and 20
working professionals in India and Abroad, budding first- generation entrepreneurs
with a vision to build our nation through quality education. Promoters have rich
experience in teaching, research and administration in engineering education with
national and international Exposure. The composition of the team itself is a
testimony to the quality of education offered at Knowledge Institute of Technology
(KIOT) and Knowledge Business School Salem (KBSS). Promoters themselves are
directly engaged in teaching, inculcating the values and honing the skills of students

Knowledge Business School Salem (KBSS)

Knowledge Business School Salem (KBSS) is one of the prominent B-School in the
State of Tamilnadu. KBSS offers Two years MBA programme with an intake of 120 students, and
is a sister Institution of Knowledge Institute of Technology (KIOT), Salem. KBSS is known for
its quality job placements, inspiring faculty, projects with stipend, corporate consultancy and
joy of learning. The core strengths of KBSS are its faculty team with diverse expertise and

Spreading over 6300 sq. ft. KBSS can be best described by its modern amenities. The class rooms and seminar hall are fully equipped and well-furnished with
personal computers ( Internet Connection), air conditions, audio and visual capabilities. Each and every aspect of these vibrant facilities has been planned to
develop the skills and creativity of students.

Laboratory

KBSS has the modern and advanced computer centre with over 130 personal computers with latest configuration. The campus is fully networked via 20 MBPS leased
line internet connectivity. The Laboratory has integrated research based software’s pertaining all elective streams..

Library

KBSS has an integrated library which works as a knowledge resource centre that
delivers a robust database ranging from books, journals, e-journals and variety of
newspapers. KBSS library has over 6000 diverse collections of management books and
top management journals (16 International and 31 National journals). KBSS Library also
provides access to the research database DELNET(229 Management Journals – both
National and International) and NPTEL which assist faculty members and students for
creative learning.
About DELNET
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing
among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect,
store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, to
coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary
duplication wherever possible.
DELNET has been actively engaged with the compilation of various Union Catalogues
of the resources available in member-libraries. It has already created the Union
Catalogue of Books, Union List of Current Periodicals, Union Catalogue of Periodicals,
CD-ROM Database, Database of Indian Specialists, Database of Periodical Articles,
Union List of Video Recordings, Urdu Manuscripts' Database, Database of Theses and
Dissertations, sample databases of language publications using GIST technology and
several other databases.

Sports and Other Amenities

Students have greater opportunities to access wide range of sports facilities such as Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Cricket and Badminton. Students are also trained in indoor
sports. KBSS offers essential facilities like ATM, cafeteria, photocopy centre, stationery shop, transportation & hostels.

CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGY

The curriculum for the programme includes theory courses (including electives), seminars, practical, project works, etc. with detailed syllabi prescribed by the
affiliated university. Students have the opportunity to opt for two elective streams. The elective streams offered are Finance, Marketing, Human Resource,
Production and Systems thereby students would specialize in two functional areas of management. As a part of the course the students will undergo a summer
internship during the summer vacation and a major project work during fourth semester. The project work shall be undertaken in an industrial / research
organization. Apart from the curriculum value added courses are offered to our students, which provide them with employability skills.

Reengineering, Organization Restructuring, Human Resource Planning and Marketing strategies. The objective of the consultancy team is to deliver the finest and
most feasible solutions to the corporates. KBSS is committed in providing unparalleled, continuous value for its clients.

Management Development Programmes

The Prime objective of KBSS is to actively promote professional development of
corporate executives through well designed and structured management
development programmes. MDPs focuses on the cross functional domains as
Strategic Business units of Organizations. The Sessions are delivered by
experienced and resourceful faculty who are hands on with recent trends and
aware of the challenges in the corporate world encounters. In addition to MDP,
KBSS also offers Customized Programmes (In-Company Programmes) for specific
needs of the organization. In the last one year, KBSS has conducted 12 Management
Development Programmes (MDPs), 3 Intrapreneurship Development Programmes
(IDPs) and 1 Business Administration programme for different levels of
management in a company.

CSR Activities:

The Skill Development Cell (SDC) of KBSS in association with Education and Skill
Panel of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII – Salem) had organized 10 Skill
Development Programmes and 400 faculty members from different institutions
across Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Erode region were benefited.

Career Guidance cell of KBSS had organized the Career Orientation Programme
for Under Graduates in their relevant field of study. Around 3000 plus under
graduate students from different institution in and around Salem, Namakkal and
Erode region were participated.

With the aim of improving higher education among student community and
to create awareness, KBSS conducted free TANCET coaching class for MBA
aspirants. Highlights of 2014 and 2015 TANCET Coaching by KBSS are:

“Recast your Career”

A public awareness programme - “Recast your Career”, was organized at KBSS
with the aim to create an awareness on management education and the scope of
various specialization and its relevant job opportunities in an existing market.
The prominent industrial experts from leading corporates on their respective
domain (Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Production and System) were
addressed and educate the aspirants and general public. Around 150 plus from
Salem, Namakkal and Erode region were gathered and benefited.
