Q1. If the point (x, y) is equidistant from the points (a + b, b – a) and (a – b, a + b), prove that bx = ay.

Q2. Find the coordinates of the circumcentre of the triangle whose vertices are (8, 6), (8, –2) and (2, –2). Also find its
circumradius.

Q3. In what ratio does the y-axis divide the line segment joining the point P(–4, 5) and Q(3, –7)? Also, find the coordinates
of the point of intersection.

Q4. Determine the ratio in which the line 3x y 9 0 divides the line segment joining the points (1, 3) and (2, 7). Also
find the coordinates of the point of intersection.

Q5. Prove that the points (a, b + c), (b, c + a) and (c, a + b) are collinear.

Q6. If the vertices of a triangle are 1, – 3 , 4, p and – 9,7 and its area is 15 square units. Find the value of P..

square units.

Q3. If A(1, 2) , B(4, 3), C(6, 6) are the three vertices of a parallelogram ABCD. Find the co-ordinates of fourth vertex.
If E is the mid point of DC. Find the area of ADE .

Q2. The points A (2, 9), B (a, 5) and C (5, 5) are the vertices of a ABC right angle at B. Find the values of ‘a’ and
hence the area of ABC .

Q3. If 4,3 and 4,3 are two vertices of an equilateral triangle, find the co-ordinates of the third vertex, given that
the origin lies in the interior of the triangle.

Q4. If the points A (1, –2), B (2, 3), C (a, 2) and D (–4, –3) form a parallelogram, find the value of ‘a’ and height of the
parallelogram taking AB as base.

Q5. Find the ratio in which the line 2x 3y 5 0 divides the line segment joining the pints (8, –9) and (2, 1). Also
find the co-ordinates of the point of division.

Q6. If the co-ordinates of the mid-points of the sides of a triangle are (1, 1), (2, –3) and (3, 4). Find its centroid. Also
find the area of the triangle.
