A. ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS Search

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates, as well as those
Academics who wish to spend Sabbatical leave with the university, for the following
vacant positions for the above listed programmes; including those outlined under General
Studies:

Professor/Research Professor,

Associate Professor/ Research Associate Professor,

Senior Lecturer/ Senior Research Fellow,

Lecturer I/ Research Fellow I/Senior Librarian;

Lecturer II/Research Fellow II/Librarian I; and

Assistant Lecturer/ Assistant Research Fellow/Librarian II

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Professor/Research Professor/Associate Professor/ Research Associate Professor

Candidates must posses at least a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in their areas of
specialization from internationally recognized institutions, plus a minimum of 15 (for
Professor) and 12 (for Associate Professor) years of cognate experience in teaching and
research. They must show evidence of productive scholarship through scholarly
publications in reputable local and /or international journals, as well as capacity to
formulate, execute and sustain meaningful research programmes. Very high moral probity
is required.

Senior Lecturer/ Senior Research Fellow

Candidates must posses at least a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in their areas of
specialization from internationally recognized institutions, plus a minimum of 10 years
cognate experience in teaching and research; and evidence of productive scholarship
through scholarly publications in reputable local and/or international journals. Very high
moral probity is required.

Lecturer I/ Research Fellow I/Senior Librarian

Candidates must posses at least a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in their areas of
specialization from internationally recognized institutions, plus a minimum of 7 years post
qualification experience; with demonstrable capacity to conduct research in areas of
competence. Candidates with Masters Degrees with 5 years teaching/research
experience and at least five (5) scholarly publications in reputable local and/or international
journals are eligible. Very high moral probity is required.

Lecturer II/Research Fellow II/Librarian I

Candidates must posses at least a Master degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil.) degree in their
areas of specialization from internationally recognized institutions, plus a minimum of 5
years post qualification experience; with demonstrable capacity to conduct research in
areas of competence. Candidates who are at an advanced level of completion of Ph.D are
at advantage. Very high moral probity is required.

Assistant Lecturer/ Assistant Research Fellow/Librarian II

Candidates must posses at least a Master degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil.) degree not
below 2nd Class Honours (Upper Division) in their areas of specialization from
internationally recognized institutions, plus a minimum of 2 years post qualification
experience. Such candidates must show evidence of considerable teaching or research
potentialities. Very high moral probity is required.

SALARY SCALE

The salary scales for academic staff namely, Consolidated University Academic Staff
Salary (CONUASS) would be applicable as obtained in other Nigerian Universities.
Allowances and other fringe benefits are also in accordance with the prevailing conditions
in Nigerian Universities.
