consolidate inventory information coming from each site into

The real-time inventory information that is managed by POIMS

IT Systems through one of the system integration mechanisms
supported by POIMS. Your existing systems may either retrieve
data directly from POIMS database via ODBC/OLE DB/ADO.NET
connections or Excel Dynamic Data-Exchange (DDE), or even
through codes via the POIMS Integration API. Alternatively,
POIMS can also export data to the OPC Server or as flat files

POIMS Solution Architecture

POIMS Core Server

The POIMS Server Process continuously collects “live” product quantity
and temperature measurements in real time by interfacing with tank
gauging devices that run on popular field communication protocols, or
by integrating with external OPC-compliant control systems or off-the-
shelve tank gauging systems. In the absence of tank gauging devices,
user-entered measurements are accepted. With these “live” tank gauging
measurements, the server process is able to accurately compute the
physical inventory of the tanks using industrial standard formula.

The computed inventory information is continuously trended, broadcast to

the POIM HMI Client, used for inventory reporting and analytics, and used
for the detection of level or temperature alarms.

Location: Jiangsu, China
Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Testing and Commissioning of the Tank Farm Management System for 78 Tanks
(8 custody & 70 non custody) with Radar & Temperature Transmitters, Profibus PA Network, 5 Field
Network Interface Panels, PLC, POIMS Server, Database Server, 3 POIMS Clients & Web Server (10 concurrent
clients). The system also performs tank farm related controls for more than 100 loading and unloading
pumps, 30 temperature control valves and 60 remote actuated valves.

Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the Tank Farm Inventory Management System
on a turnkey basis for 96 tanks at Dengkil Refinery and 74 tanks at the Port Klang Refinery with
Radar & Temperature Transmitters, Profibus PA Network, 7 (Dengkil) & 6 (Port Kaang) Field Network
Interface Panels, Profibus PA network PLC at each site, POIMS & Database Server at each site, 5 (Dengkil) &
6 (Port Klang) POIMS Clients & Web Server (10 concurrent clients) at each site.

Name of Project: Natural Oleochemicals Sdn Bhd

Location: Pasir Gudang, Malaysia
Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Testing and Commissioning of the Tank Farm Inventory Management System for 112
Tanks utilising existing hydrostatic Pressure Transmitters Radar sensors, 66 new Temperature Transmitters,
5 Field Network Interface Panels, POIMS & Database Server, 9 POIMS Clients, PLC, 5 HART Gateways, and
30 Tank Side Display units. The system was integrated with the customer’s existing ERP system (EMES
supplied by DNR).

Name of Project: Kaleesuwari Refinery Pvt. Ltd

Location: Chennai, India
Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Testing and Commissioning of the complete Tank Farm Management System (Refinery)
and Terminal Management System (PORT) for 41 Tanks with central POIMS and database server, 2 POIMS
Client (Refinery) and 1 POIMS Client at the Port, PLC and I/O’s at both sites, Profibus PA network and wide
area network for real time connectivity between refinery and port. The system manages and controls the
complete work flow for the import and export of oil from the port to the refinery.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the Tank Farm Inventory Management System
on a turnkey basis including Radar, Temperature Transmitters & Tank Side Display Units,
Profibus PA Network, Field Network Interface Panels, PLC, POIMS & Database Server, POIMS Clients &
Web Server (10 concurrent clients). The inventory data is seamlessly integrated with the customer’s
SAP system.

Name of Project: IOI Loders Croklaan Oils Sdn Bhd (IOI Group)
Location: Pasir Gudang, Malaysia
Scope of Work: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the Tank Farm Inventory Management and
Control System of 176 tanks. Besides our “POIMS”, software solutions for inventory management with
tank side display and Profibus DP network, the system also manages the tank farm-related controls for
temperature control valves, nitrogen pulsing system and agitators. The inventory data for the entire tank
farm is integrated with the client’s SAP system.
