4. 자기소개 Self-Introduction

My name is Karima Apriany. In this section, I will inform you about myself introductory.
Firstly, I was born and raised in Jakarta. I lived in a military circle. My father was a soldier and
my mother is a housewife who is now being an entrepreneur. I have two sisters and one brother.
My father had taught me a life lesson. He said I had to be brave, discipline, kind and strong if
You want to survive in the real world. Also, He never fondled his child. My mom is a warm-
hearted woman. She always fulfills our needs and fights for us. The lesson my parents gave to me
has become my motivation to live life.
Secondly, I was graduated from Sebelas Maret University, located in Surakarta, Indonesia. It
took five years to finish the study in Chemistry Major. I knew that there are things were not
always appropriate to our target. Instead of thinking this life is going to be messed up, I tried to
do something that would give me benefit in the future. I first started to join a research group
that is called Solid State Chemistry and Catalyst Research Group. They introduced me about
research field and material science which became my research interest this day. Solid state has
become my research interest especially material for the solid-state fuel cell. Since then, I always
wonder how it feels to be a researcher in material science. To develop the research field about
material science, I have participated in several programme and seminar. Such as Program
Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) which held by the Directorate of Higher Education of Indonesia,
became a lab assistant in several practica, and joined a seminar that related to the research field.
I knew I could not finish my study on time but as a replacement, I gained a lot of experience
during my study at Sebelas Maret University.
The last, this paragraph will describe my personality according to friends and me. I am a
creative woman and have a high curiosity but sometimes I become a moody person. I am often
thinking about what the future looks like. I interested in many things such as sports, movies,
music, culture, and science. I also like to help people in any situation.

5. 장래희망 Future Plans

My future plan is to complete a master degree in material science at Gyeongsang National University and
pursue a career as a researcher for renewable and sustainable energy in Indonesia. As we know, Indonesia
has places that are rich in mineral resources. Unfortunately, the utilization of those resources is still
lacking. For example, the mineral that produces from the tin mining process. It is called zircon sand which
has low economic value. Some research has been found that zircon sand can be used as a material for the
solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). SOFC is a device that produces the electricity by directly converts the fuel
electrochemically. Also, SOFC has some advantages such as low emission, high efficiency, and relatively
low cost. Furthermore, The high operating temperature of this device has become a major issue.
