Objective
Secure a job in a medical social work setting where I can apply my skills in case management, maintaining strong
client relationships, advocate for the wellbeing of the client as well as client access to the services of social work,
and ensure that all clients get adequate care.

Experience
Lead Sales Associate, Tomlinsons, Lumberton, NC May 2015-March 2017
 Responsible for engaging with all customers that entered the store and meeting their needs.

 Full-time cashier, along with training all employees on the cash register.

 Responsible for informing customers about merchandise that was on order and was soon to be placed on
the floor.

 Maintain and value strong client associate relationship.

Child Care Provider August 2017- Present


 Supervise children’s safety, nutrition, and activities.

 Transport them from school to other expected places to be.

 Engaging in learning activities to act as a tutor or provide help with school work if necessary.

BSW- Internship, SRMC Behavioral Health August 2018- November 2018

 Completed 400+ hours at a medical facility observing and practicing the roles of a Social Worker in the
Emergency department on the Psychiatric side.

 Became integrated with the Behavioral health team and collaborated with them on their daily goals,
intervention plans as well as follow-up care upon discharge for patients.

 Discuss with patients resources that accommodate their needs, as well as what our hospital may offer for
them. This includes medication being covered upon discharge and referring them to a provider who can
help them with the cost of care/medications in their follow-up care.

 Engaging in diversity and differences while practicing, which allowed me to work on any biases and
personal values that could potentially affect how I provide care.

 Familiarized myself with policies within the agency to be able to advocate for patients as well as allowing
me to enhance my service delivery.

Robeson Community College August 2014-May2016
 Accumulated prerequisites for the Rad-tech program, later decided Social Work was what I was more
interested in. Acquired 32 general education credit hours and transferred.

University at North Carolina at Pembroke August 2016-Present


 Anticipated Bachelors in Social work, courses concentrated in human behavior, cultural competence, and
social work practice achieving social work skills as well as learning ways to utilize them in a social work
setting.

Community service/Campus and Involvement


 Volunteered 40 hours at My Refuge a non-profit organization that provides food, clothes and temporary
housing.

 As I was there I prepared meals for the less fortunate, arranged bags of food from the food pantry
to give away, also organized clothes that had been donated.

 President of Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministry (ELM) for 2 years.

 Representative for UNCP ELM for 2 years at Episcopal Diocesan Convention.

 Spring retreat leader.
