Goal 1

Through year 4, I would like to work on establishing new strategies to

improve my classroom management to manage students’ behavior.
Objectives I chose this goal to:
- To avoid distraction in the learning processes. (Ratcliff, 2010).
- To help teachers have a smooth lesson without students’
interruptions.
- To learn better and practice different strategies.
- To increase student’s enjoyment in the lesson.
- Attract students to be more focused on their task.
- Work on achieve the lessons learning outcomes (Fontana, 1994).
- Use the class time wisely.
- Classroom management helps the teacher to manage the students to
have a better learning environment (Hussain, 2017).
Implementation I will implement managing students’ behavior through:
Strategy - Insure that every lesson we have a rule reminder from one of the
children to say. “Routine rules and procedure” to reduce any
distraction.
- I will use some behavior management strategies like a bell to call
attention and use 123 eyes on me.
- Clapp twice and make the students clap again and cross their hands to
get their attention.
- Ask both MST and MCT to observe me on my management strategies
and notice my strength and weaknesses.
Competency Area Managing learning:
This goal is considered under managing learning competency area because
when I will remind the students with the rules is part of classroom
management to managing learning process.
Resources - MST: Bell “the sound will mostly attract the students’ attention to
reduce the distraction in the classroom.” I used this strategy and
follow this rule because it is so effective and get the students
attention very quick.
- Peers: Rules list “to remind the students to follow the rules”, I got this
strategy from my colleague, because it reminds the students with the
rules and get them disciplined.
