Job Purpose
Responsible for contributing towards long term strategic initiatives determined by the Managing Director,
specifically:
Identifies strategic issues and opportunities
Assesses options for addressing such issues and opportunities
Provides recommendations including risk assessment and suggested courses of action
Identifies cost saving measures
Provides a point of alignment for other strategic development across the business – networks,
demand/distribution, fleet ,alliances, ancillary opportunities, training and cargo
Develops, evaluates and analyzes short, medium and long term plans
Compiles industry intelligence, leading research & promoting stakeholder engagement
The role functions at a strategic level and will foster cross-functional collaboration, identifying best practices
and cost controls (across departments).
Key Accountabilities
1. Value stream management: Quantifies and maps the value stream including:
Develops strategies on maximizing the value of products and services through-out the value
stream, specifically:
o Ancillary streams
o Develops new markets (addresses challenge of demand & cyclic demand)
o Drives consumer loyalty
o Innovation/ technology
o New products
Identifies investment/divestment opportunities arising from value stream analysis
2. Special Projects:
Identifies, contributes and develops major strategic projects linked to cost control, revenue
generation and competitive advantage
Provides linkages between strategy and other operational/corporate areas
Inputs in strategic planning ensuring alignment between various groups
Formulates the linkage between IT strategy, resource strategy, capital and strategic plan
Compiles and disseminates industry intelligence for effective application to the business
environment (specifically relating to company value proposition and changing business models)
Conducts regular environmental scans to understand the impact on GoAir e.g.: geopolitical,
regulatory, and technological.
Produces relevant documents and strategic material for ManCom
Facilitates overall communication of Group Strategy to stakeholders ensuring support of future
strategies
Builds strategic relationships with internal and external partners who can provide industry
intelligence
Leads efforts on positive influence across the value chain (including with policymakers where
active engagement is being encouraged by the current govt).
Drive key areas including market insights, product roadmap prioritization, and strategic
business development.
3. Research:
The position holder provides up to date research insights to the leadership team in the following areas:
