SUBJECT: Annual Financial Report Cover Design Contest

The Office of Academic Enrichment and Support is pleased to invite your students to participate
in the school year 2018-19 Accounting Services Annual Financial Report Cover Design
Contest. The theme for this year is “Celebrating Our World Champion Philadelphia
Eagles”. After the long anticipated Super Bowl title finally coming to Philly, the young and old
and everybody in between has gotten caught up in the excitement! Students, teachers,
administrators, parents and the Greater Philadelphia community have gone Eagles green.
How was the Eagles victory in Super Bowl 52 celebrated in the City of Philadelphia? Did you
attend the parade honoring the team? Did you have a celebration in your school? Did you feel
proud of our team? Did you wear Eagles jerseys, jackets, shirts, hats etc. to show team spirit? Do
you think that the Win brought the people of Philadelphia closer together?
This contest theme provides a unique opportunity for students to challenge their intellect,
imagination and creativity to visually express their ideas, influences, experiences
that have had an impact on their lives and what life lessons can be learned from being the world
champions. It provides an opportunity for students to show how they celebrated the World
Championship Eagles and to share how sports teach teamwork and promote a sense of pride
and camaraderie among students and adults alike.
For this competition, students are encouraged to interpret this theme two dimensionally using
their own stylistic approach. Exemplary artwork selected for the Annual Financial Report will
be used on the front and back covers and dividers in the book. This publication is distributed
worldwide and has received prominent attention for its outstanding illustrations produced by The
School District of Philadelphia K-12 public school students.
If you plan to involve your students in this competition, please carefully review the attached
prospectus that lists specific information about the contest as well as suggestions for the cover
design. Your cooperation in making this competition a success is greatly appreciated. If you
have questions, please contact me at 215-400-6639 or (dklose@philasd.org).
Thank you for your interest and participation. FLY EAGLES FLY!
