WHEREAS, the Supreme Student Government and College Councils, presided by the SSG
Vice President and Commission on Election Chairman, Farhana K. Kanakan, in a meeting with the
SSG Adviser, Mr. Wrendolf C. Juntilla discussed the potential problems for the upcoming University-
Wide Election for School Year 2019-2020 specifically in the filing the candidacy for the Presidency
and Vice Presidency.
WHEREAS, Section 15, Section B, Qualifications and Functions of SSG Officers, the President
and the Vice President, Article III of the Constitution and By Laws of the Supreme Student
Government states that any student shall be eligible to run for the office of the president or
vice president provided that, at the time of election, he is carrying an academic load at least
twelve (12) units, a resident of this university for at least five (5) continuous semesters, a
non-working student , with no academic deficiency starting his/her second year, with good
moral character, and with a tract record of leadership specially in campus;
WHEREAS, the body raised the potential problem of having no candidates for both the
presidency and vice presidency;
WHEREAS, it was mentioned the possibility of having no candidates to run reasons may be
due to the qualifications aforementioned, academic, and/or personal matters;
WHEREAS, the amendment to Section 15, Section B, Qualifications and Functions of SSG
Officers, the President and the Vice President, Article III of the Constitution and By Laws of the
Supreme Student Government shall be by adding that in case there will be no qualified
candidates to run for the position of president and vice president, the senators with the first
and second highest votes shall become the president and vice president of the Supreme
Student Government respectively;
WHEREAS, on the motion of SSG Vice President Farhana K. Kanakan, duly seconded by all
members present, it was;
RESOLVED, Section 15, Section B, Qualifications and Functions of SSG Officers, the
President and the Vice President, Article III of the Constitution and By Laws of the Supreme Student
Government states that any student shall be eligible to run for the office of the president or
vice president provided that, at the time of election, he is carrying an academic load at least

Supreme Student Government shall be by adding that in case there will be no qualified
candidates to run for the position of president and vice president, the senators with the first
and second highest votes shall become the president and vice president of the Supreme
Student Government respectively;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Dean of Student
Affairs and Services, Dr. Ma. Theresa P. Llano, the Deans of the Colleges and the Office of the
University Registrar.
APPROVED this 9th of November 2018 at Supreme Student Government Office, Notre Dame
University, Cotabato City.
