• When publishing documents, a new option is available that allows revisions from SmartPlant P&ID to be sent to SmartPlant Foundation instead of using the
SmartPlant Foundation revision feature.

Integration dilemma: from logical (P&ID) to physical (3D)

• An instrument and its actuator are published by SPP&ID as two

separate objects. For S3D, the component (symbol) includes both
combined together as one.
• 3D correlate to the instrument on the P&ID and ignore the associated actuator.

• Macro Components(vent, drain) are represented in P&ID as single

object, while in 3D they are modeled as a set of separate objects.
• If full correlation is required between SPPID and S3D, this type of configuration
needs to be modeled as group of individual objects in SPPID just like SP3D
does.

• Some items represented on the P&ID will not appear at all in the 3D
model; e.g. control system functions and signal lines.

All three cases can be configured to be ignored for correlation using the file ExemptCorrelateClasses.xml in the S3D Symbol Share
