SOIL PROPERTIES:
The soil of the NARSINGDHI district is mainly formed with recent and sub recent alluvial sediments of
low parts of the old Brahmaputra floodplain and the new Brahmaputra floodplain. Tract upland soil
mixed with the old Brahmaputra floodplain is found in the north eastern part of the District. The
specific gravity of the soil sample varies from 2.51 to 2.77. THE SOIL REGION IS LIGHT
GREY FIRM, GREY STIFF SILTY CLAY.
