COURSE OUTCOMES
CO3 Design a robotics and automation system as applicable in manufacturing activities.
CO4 Organize a multidisciplinary team for design of robotics and automation systems in industry.
OBJECTIVE
1. To identify and understand the use of basic pneumatic components and circuit.
2. To distinguish the application of single and double acting cylinder.
3. To understand the application of direct and indirect control of single and double acting
cylinder.
EQUIPMENT
Air Supply System, Service unit, single acting cylinder, double acting cylinder, 3/2 Directional
control valve (DCV) - push button operated, 3/2 - single pilot DCV, 5/2 single pilot DCV, 5/2 -

Documentation
2
Report format, schematic drawing, original discussion, and conclusion.
Functionality
2
Students are able to demonstrate that the realized system is working as stated
in the problem description.
Creativity
1
Students are able to show creativity for system enhancement. No mark for
creativity if the system is not working.
