Opening a Non-Standard gINT Database and Library

To eliminate the need for individual gINT project files, databases have been created using the
libraries and templates provided. This will enable gINT users to use the Enterprise version of
gINT for both projects that use the standard PSI gINT library and database, as well as projects
that have been created using alternate libraries to meet client needs. An example is DOT work
for various states that have gINT formats they require.

If you have individual gINT project files that need to be uploaded to the databases for
additional work, please contact Michele Blecic or Greg Hypta with the file names and locations,
and these can be upsized to the corresponding database. At this time, security will also be
setup to access these databases.

***All project files from the OLD server have been moved and conglomerated under the
PROJECTS folder @ \\PSIPRODDBW02\BENTLEY_GINT ***

If new formats are needed for a new client, contact Greg or Michele to have the database
created. There is no need for individual gINT project files, databases will be created to meet
client needs.

NOTE: You CANNOT use a non-standard library with a standard PSI database. If you use a non-
standard library and the standard PSI database, you risk corrupting the PSI databases. When
using a non-standard Library, you must open the corresponding database.
First, change to a non-standard Library:

At the Input tab, use the top menu and select File -> Change Library. You will be placed in the ‘Libraries’
folder. This is where all the libraries for gINT are located:

If you do not see the libraries, in the "path" bar at the top next to the search box enter the following:

\\PSIPRODDBW02\BENTLEY_GINT and press enter, then navigate to the "libraries" folder.

Find the library for the database you want to work in, select it, and click Open.
Then, you can open the database. Use the top menu, click File or (Enterprise) and select "Open
Enterprise Database". The Server Instance should be entered, if it is not, type “PSIGINTDB” in the top
yellow box and click the green circle with the arrow (make sure "Use Windows Authentication" is
checked). The list of databases will be displayed:

Find the database that corresponds to your library, select it and click OK.

Confirm that you are in the correct library and database by checking the top header:

The top of the header will indicate what your input is (which database is open) and will indicate which
library is open.
To change back to the standard PSI Library and database
Re-open the standard library and database
Use the top menu to select File -> Change Library. Select the ‘PSI Standard Library’

When you click Open, a message will be displayed that the library is in use, click ‘Yes’ to open the library
as read-only:
After opening the PSI Standard Library, use the top menu and select Enterprise -> Open Enterprise
Database. Select your office’s database from the list, and click Ok:

Confirm that you are in the correct library and database by checking the top header:

The top of the header will indicate what your input is (which database is open) and which library is open.
