2. Scope of work
The proposed completion fluid for the ongoing OMMZ#773 well is based on CaCl2 brine @
1.27sg. The aim of this proposal is to assist Sonatrach & Mud Engineer to displace the Avoil
DS-IE mud to the completion fluid
Objectives:
1- Displace the Avoil DS-IE mud to filtrated & inhibited completion brine. The main
emphasis is to achieve the required cleaning in a cost efficient manner optimizing the
use of fluids engineering, products, and skills to minimize rig time requirements.
2- Displace the well from Avoil DS-IE mud to correctly filtrated & inhibited brine in order
to insure the fluid remaining in the wellbore meets the norms and reporting standards
by Sonatrach DP-DF
Completion Filtrated & Inhibited CaCl2 Brine, d=1.27sg as per SH-DP & DF
Fluid request
Displace the well with Filtrated & Inhibited CaCl2 Brine at 1,27sg, as
Objective per the proposed displacement bellow.

4-Expected Sequence:
Clean pits to be used for mixing Brine. Clean lines where fluid is to come in contact when
mixing. Pumping ( This includes rig pump section lines from reserve to Slug pits Mix pump
section and pressure mix line to the rig floor)
2- Mixing Brine
Brine well be mixed on the cleaned pits prepared in advance as required standard,
Fill a cleaned tank with fresh water.
Add required CaCl2 to 1.27sg
Add Incorr at 6 Kg/m3 only before start displacing.
3-Displacement Procedure:
1) Pump the required volume with completion fluid 1.27sg with 03m3 excess until get a
clean brine out.
1- The recommended completion fluid is filtrated & inhibited CaCl2 Brine @ 1.27sg (as
per Sonatrach DP request).

(a) Start pit cleaning operations as soon as possible and clean to a high standard
(b) Clean the pits initially with high-pressure hoses. After the initial cleaning, pump at last
5m3 of water, through all pits, pumps, lines and manifolds that may encounter the
completion fluid. Do not bring on or mix any completion fluid until all the surface
equipment is clean. It is also necessary that all water outlets are inspected to avoid
the potential for contamination or density reduction.
(c) It may be necessary to re-enter the pits at this stage with high-pressure hose/spray
equipment. Always ensure agitators and other systems are isolated and PPE provided
and worn and all safety measures are met.
(d) Batch-mix the salt plus the water and agitate well in cleaned pits. Corrosion Inhibitor
will be added to the Brine Prior to commencement of operations, ensure a pre-job
meeting is held to define job responsibilities and assist smooth operations.
7-Filtration
NTU Readings
Record all fluid quantities, filtration rates, start and finish times, cartridges used for
each cycle accurately.
Record all NTU readings, before the filtration unit, after the filtration unit and filtered
fluid pit.
Record any centrifuge tests done or observations regarding the cleanliness of the fluid.
Record any immediate plug offs due to excessively dirty fluid and pits or lines
Sampling
AVA takes numerous samples during the displacement and clean up in order to
evacuate and track system improvements.
Sample taking is an important process for analysis of the well. Attention must be
taken to ensure that the simple taken is representative of the well return
The recommended Reading after filtration is <40NTU.

The following industrial recommendations are made for the OBM and WBM systems:
Work Clothes
Coveralls should be worn at all times when working with mud/chemicals. If
they become contaminated, they should be cleaned before re-use.
Gloves
Mid-arm length PVC gloves should be worn at all times.
Boots
All personnel must wear safety boots in areas where contact with
chemicals/mud will occur. The coveralls should be on the outside of the boots
to stop mud running down inside the boot and prevent contact with the feet.
Skin Contamination
Wash affected areas thoroughly. Re-apply barrier cream if available.
Washing
After the end of the shift, the skin should be washed using ordinary soap and
water. Do not use solvent based gel products or rig wash as these will also
remove natural oils from the skin. Moisturizing creams to replenish the natural
skin oils should then be applied.
Ventilation
All work areas, especially the mud rooms and shale shaker areas, must be
properly ventilated to minimize mists.
