married couple are living in the house together with the brother of Ma’am Alicia. The family can
be considered to be under the Retirement stage. Sir Eliseo has already retired from his job
because of his health problem due to his diabetes.

For Sir Eliseo and Ma’am Alicia, they have adjusted their role as parents to grandparents
as help to their children in taking care of their grandchildren. They shared with them the task of
child rearing most of the times. Among the problems encountered during their life cycle stage is
acquiring chronic illness, diabetes, which resulted to the retirement of Sir Eliseo from his job
which changed their way of dealing with financial needs. However, their sons were helping
them with the financial burdens since they were giving them monetary support for their needs
for food and maintenance medicines.
III. FAMILY PSYCHODYNAMICS
The Manaloto Family is functional. They are able to provide each other’s emotional needs. They
talk and deal with challenges openly. They make sure that everyone in the house is aware of

time to talk about things.

LEADERHIP AND AUTHORITY

This role belongs to Ma’am Alicia who is the only female in the house. They have the
matriarchal type of authority. However, she still consults her husband and brother regarding
relevant matters.

care giver of the family. She makes sure if Sir Eliseo has taken his maintenance medications
every day.

IV. FAMILY ECONOMIC INCOME AND EXPENSES

Sir Eliseo was a former house painter however due to lack of jobs, he is currently not employed
however his wife Ma’am Alicia takes laundry services part time. Nevertheless the proceeds
acquired to this part time job is not enough to cover all of the expenses of the household that is
why most of the income that supports the family comes from the two adult children who lives
at a close proximity from the subject’s house.
The expenses of the family to keep it stable are basic and not too taxing to the current budget
of the family. Ranging from food , child care, housing and electric expenses is all within the
economic capability of the family.

Both Sir Eliseo and Ma’am Alicia is satisfied with present economic condition thanks to the
support of their children and simple lifestyle
