To the Eller College of Management Admissions Office:

Since attending the University of Arizona my freshman year, it has been an ambition of mine to be admitted to the
Eller College of Management. Through my experiences as a student, I have found that working with others,
coordinating tasks, and making difficult decisions has inclined me to pursue a degree in Business Management. This
major not only fits my interests, but allows me to explore many different career opportunities in various fields of
business.

Upon receiving my acceptance letter to the University of Arizona, I was selected to be a member of the Eller
Leadership and Training for Excellence Program, more commonly known as ELITE. ELITE is a year-long intensive
program for the top 100 incoming pre-business freshmen. My outstanding GPA, committed involvement, and
potential to add value to a community committed to personal development was what allowed me to be a member.
Over the course of the year, I strengthened my teamwork, leadership, and academic skills. ELITE provided a strong
foundation that will assist me throughout the rest of my college career.

The Eller College of Management prides itself on the personal qualities of its students such as integrity, dedication,
leadership, and academic commitment. Through my professional experiences as a server at Flower Child Restaurant
last summer, I believe I fostered and demonstrated the qualities that the college prides itself on. After working for
only 2 months, I was selected out of 45 employees for Employee of The Month due to my work ethic and
performance. Through this achievement, I was able to further exercise my leadership and coordination skills, both of
which are necessary in pursuing a degree in Business Management. In conjunction with this job, I maintained
another job while taking summer classes. This balance taught me the importance of time management and
prioritization, which are skills that are necessary for any business professional.

If granted admission to the Eller College of Management as a Business Management major, I am confident that I
would have the ability to serve as an outstanding group leader and exercise the skillset that my past experiences have
afforded me. The work ethic that the college engrains within its students will allow me to excel in all aspects of my
life, most notably in my academics and professional development. The culture and intentions of the college best
align with the aspirations I have for myself and I am confident that I will make a worthwhile contribution as a
student. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Katelin Flaherty
