Dear Nurse Recruiter,

I am writing in response to an announcement recently posted on the employment opportunities web

site for new nursing graduates. As shown in my resume, I will graduate in December 2018 from the
Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA.

Through my clinical rotations, I have had the opportunity to work in several settings, including
geriatric, medical-surgical, psychology, pediatric, and cardiac. I also completed 120 hours of ICU
experience, as well as a shadowing shift in the Cardiac ICU at the Johns Hopkins University. My
experiences enabled me to develop strong skills that prepare me well for the challenges of nursing. I
plan to spend the remainder of my nursing school experience learning how to care for a diverse
demographic population of patients.

In addition to my nursing skills, I have developed my leadership skills as well. As a committee

member of the Relay for Life group at Shenandoah University and as a member of the Student
Nurses’ Association at Shenandoah University, I have planned and participated several community
service activities, including advertisement and preparation for the annual Relay to End Cancer event,
which surpassed attendance and fundraising expectations. My community involvement such as Relay
for Life solidified the values I will use to practice in Nursing. In my community involvement
empathy, reliability, and integrity were important due to the autonomy and responsibility I was
given. My experience as a caregiver with Right at Home both in Wilmington, DE and Winchester,
VA has also taught me how to be independent and efficient in patient care on a holistic level.

I am very interested in beginning my nursing career in your health system and believe that my skills
and experience prepare me well. I look forward to meeting you, and please do not hesitate to contact
me at 443-454-3717.

Sincerely,

Aneta A. Olorife
