Standard 1 Feedback: Know the students and how they learn
LESSONS: Yr 8 Drama, (+ intro to Yr 8 RE) Good intro and Q & A on puppet personalities.
Behaviour well managed- attention gained fairly quickly. Variety of activities planned. Students
easily motivated and keen to start.

Standard 2 Feedback: Know the content and how to teach it
Confident manner- students respond well.
Ensure that everyone in the group is physically in the group. Encourage shy, disinterested or
disengaged students.
DWP in use- may need bigger or more boxes to incorporate homework, YouTube video etc.
Logical progression through the topic.
Good content knowledge.

Standard 3 Feedback: Plan for, and implement for effec ve teaching and learning
Building on previous lesson.
Students worked on individual puppets- ie voice, pace and emotions.
Then practiced scripts and presentation in groups.

Relationships still building. Names used. Most individuals were able to receive attention during
group work as they needed it.

Comments and suggestions often given to encourage participation. Assessment will be made
after presentation of the script and end of the project.

Overall comment
A well run lesson Sarah. Students were keen to participated and enjoyed having their own
puppet to design, make and develop it's personality. 8RE: Behaviour management is definitely
improving. Ensure that once you have everyone's attention and all is quiet, be quicker with
presenting info or asking questions- don't leave them hanging or the chatter may start again. A
great prac Sarah. I enjoyed working with you.
