Before use
Before using this product
English
CAUTION
• The driver must avoid operating this product while
driving.
• Do not increase the volume too high. Otherwise,
warnings and sounds from outside the vehicle cannot
be heard, and this could result in an accident.
• Avoid using this product when the vehicle
compartment is extremely hot, especially at
summer times. Doing so may damage the product.
Always use the product after cooling the vehicle
compartment.
• Do not disassemble or modify the product as its
internal structure is designed precisely. If you need
any technical assistance, please contact your
nearest dealer.
This product can operate only when the ignition switch is in ON or ACC. However, do not leave
the ignition switch in ON when the engine is not running. If you desire to use the product when
the engine is not running, turn the ignition switch to ACC.
Display
The use of polarized sunglasses may affect the visibility of the display.

Radio
Adjust the length of your antenna for best reception. Usually, a short antenna length is best in
large cities, and a fully extended antenna is best for distant reception.
To prevent damage to the antenna, make sure it is retracted before running your vehicle through
an automatic car wash.
FM reception tips

When listening to the radio in a vehicle, some characteristics of FM may appear to be
problems, which they are not. This is because the reception constantly changes if the vehicle
is moving. Buildings, terrain, signal distance and noise from other vehicles inhibit good
reception. The following characteristics are completely normal for a given reception area, and
they do not indicate any problem with the radio itself. 3
Before use
Fading and Drifting: FM range is limited to about 40 km, except for some high power stations.

If a vehicle is moving away from the desired station’s transmitter, the signal will tend to fade
and drift. This is a common condition with FM and is accompanied by distortion.
Fading and drifting can be minimized to a certain degree by fine tuning or tuning your radio to
a stronger signal.
Static and Fluttering: When the line-of-sight link between a transmitter and the vehicle is

blocked by large buildings or the like, the radio sound may be accompanied with static or
fluttering due to the characteristics of FM. Similarly, a fluttering noise is sometimes heard when
driving along a tree-lined road.
This static and fluttering can be reduced by adjusting the tone control or turning off treble
response until the disturbance has passed.
Multipath: Due to the reflecting characteristics of FM, direct and reflected signals may reach

the antenna simultaneously (multipath), and cancel each other out.
As the vehicle moves through these electronic dead spots, a momentary flutter or loss of
reception may occur.
Station Swapping: When two FM stations are located closely, and the original signal is

interrupted by an electronic dead spot, such as static and multipath area, sometimes the
stronger second signal will be selected until the original one returns.
This swapping can also occur as you drive away from the selected station and approach
another station of a stronger signal.
About CD player
For high performance from your CD player and CD’s, observe the following precautions:
• Use only the compact discs with the CD logo mark on the label side.
• This unit can play CD-R (CD-Recordable) and CD-RW (CD-Rewritable)
discs intended for music. Be sure to complete the disc finalization
process before using them. Some discs may not be playable, depending
on the equipment used for editing.
• Never insert anything but a regular compact disc into the disc slot.
• Avoid playing CDs while driving on rough roads, as severe vibration will
cause sound skipping or other mis-operation.
• Dehumidification:
In cold or rainy weather, just as the interior glass gets fogged, dew (water
condensation) may also settle on the product. When this occurs, the disc
playback may become intermittent or impossible. Dehumidify the air in
the vehicle for a while before resuming playback.
• Cleaning disc slot:
The disc slot tends to get dusty. Clean it occasionally to prevent
accumulated dust from scratching the discs.

About compact discs
• Do not leave an ejected disc in the disc slot for very long time. The disc

may warp. Store discs in their cases and keep them away from high
temperature and humidity.
• Avoid using badly scratched or warped discs. Scratched discs may cause
sound skipping or sticking, and warped discs may become stuck in the
unit.
• When the disc becomes dirty, wipe it gently with soft, lint free cloth, from
centre to the edge. To remove fingerprints or other oily residue from the
disc's surface, use a commercial CD cleaning fluid or spray. (Never use
record cleaning sprays, solvents, or abrasive cleaners on a compact disc.)
• Never put tape, a label, or scratches on a disc. They will prevent the disc
from playing.
• Avoid touching the recorded surface when handling a disc; handle discs
by their edges.
• You may notice that some brand new discs are rough around the centre Rough Edges

• Do not use accessories, such as stabilizers, protective seals, laser lens

cleaners, sold for "improving sound performance" or "protecting CDs".
The changes in CD thickness or outside dimensions made by these
accessories may cause problems in the product.
• Do not attach any ring-shape protector (or other accessory) to your CD

discs. These protectors are commercially available and said to protect
CD disc and to improve sound quality (and antivibration effect), but they
can do more harm than good in regular use. The most common problems
are Insert/Eject related problems and "No playback" problems due to the
protector ring coming off in the product.

Before use
• When removing the ejected disc, pull it straight out along the slot.
Pressing downwards may scratch the recorded surface of the disc. OKAY

• Specially shaped CDs, such as heart-shaped or octagonal CDs, cannot be

played. Do not attempt to play them, even with an adapter, since they may
damage the player.
Note
• To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not leave the product on longer than necessary when the
engine is not running. Doing so may make it impossible to start the engine.
About Bluetooth audio

Connecting a Bluetooth compatible audio player or mobile phone (hereinafter "portable device")
to this unit allows you to operate them from the unit and listen to music.
If the portable device is not Bluetooth-compatible, this function is not available.
About handsfree system

Bluetooth is a wireless data system, which allows users to make a phone call without connecting
the mobile phone with wires.
If your mobile phone is not Bluetooth-compatible, this function is not available.

• The button keeps on turning until you stop. However, the volume
itself is limited, and even if you keep on turning the button to the left

the volume in accordance with driving speed and road conditions.
• Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) may not be available depending on the vehicle.

• The clock mode changes in the following order:

• When the audio is operated in clock mode, the display switches from the clock mode to the audio mode.

• Time is not reset when the clock mode is turned off.

Setting the time

• To move 1 hour forward, turn to the right.

• To return to the clock time (hour) setting mode, press (BACK) while setting the clock time (minute).
• When this setting is finished, the display returns to the "CLOCK" mode. To return to the original source

Registering a Bluetooth device

Before using Bluetooth devices (portable player/mobile phone) with this unit, you must register
the Bluetooth device in this unit. Up to five Bluetooth devices can be registered.

2. Turn to select "Bluetooth", and then press .
3. Turn to select "Pairing", and then press .
• The passkey appears.
4. Operate the Bluetooth device to register.

For Bluetooth devices not supporting Secure Simple Pairing (SSP):
Enter the passkey into the Bluetooth device.
For Bluetooth devices supporting Secure Simple Pairing (SSP):

Select "Yes" to register the Bluetooth device.
• Depending on the Bluetooth device type, registration may perform automatically.
Note
• When the Bluetooth device contains both music player and mobile phone functions, both functions will
be registered simultaneously. When deleting a Bluetooth device, both functions will be simultaneously
deleted.
• When a mobile phone is not registered, pressing will enter the phone mode, and then the registration
display will automatically appear.

When "BT power" is set to ON and the ignition switch is turned to ACC, the unit will automatically
connect with the registered Bluetooth device.

Displaying the device status

When "Display setting" is set to ON and the ignition switch is turned to ACC, the connection

4. Turn to select "AUTO.P ON", and then press to set "ON".
• To cancel AUTO.P, select "AUTO.P OFF", and then press .
Note
• When "AUTO.P ON" is set, "AUTO.P" appears on the display.
• The station with high reception sensitivity is scanned from the lowest frequency.
• Up to 6 stations can be stored on presets.

What is MP3/WMA?
MPEG Audio Layer III (MP3) is a standard format for audio compression technology. By using
MP3, a file can be compressed to one-tenth the size of the original.
Windows Media™ Audio (WMA) is a format for audio compression technology. WMA files can be
compressed to a size smaller than MP3 files.
This unit supports the following MP3/WMA file standards and stored media and formats:

MP3/WMA files have an "ID3 Tag/WMA Tag", which allows information, such as song title and
artist to be entered and saved.
This unit supports ID3 Ver. 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3 and WMA tags.
Media
Media, such as CD-R and CD-RW discs are capable of playing MP3/WMA files.
Compared to the CD-ROM media commonly used for music discs, CD-R and CD-RW discs
are easily damaged in high temperature/high humidity environments and part of the CD-R and
CD-RW may become incapable of playback. Fingerprints or scratches on the disc may prevent
playback or cause skipping during playback. Sections of a CD-R or CD-RW may deteriorate if it
is left inside a vehicle for long periods of time. We recommend keeping CD-R and CD-RW discs
in a light-resistant case because the discs are vulnerable to ultraviolet light.
Format of discs
Discs must be formatted in accordance with ISO9660 Level 1 or Level 2.
Control items for this standard are as follows:
• Maximum directory layers: 8 layers
• Maximum characters for folder names/file names: 48 (including "_" and 3 letter file extension)

File names
Only files with the MP3/WMA file extension ".mp3", ".wma" can be recognised as MP3/WMA and

played. Be sure to save MP3 files with the ".mp3" file extension, and WMA files with the ".wma"
file extension. The "MP" letters of the file extension will be recognised whether entered as
uppercase letters or lowercase letters.
Note
• If the ".mp3" or ".wma" file extension is attached to a file other than an MP3/WMA file, that file will be
mistakenly recognised as an MP3/WMA file and played, resulting in loud noise output that can damage
the speakers. Be sure to avoid attaching the ".mp3" or ".wma" file extension to files other than MP3/WMA
files.
Multi-sessions
Multi-sessions are supported, and it is possible to play CD-R and CD-RW discs with annotated
MP3/WMA files. When writing the data in "Track-At-Once" mode, make sure each session is
closed (leadout) or the disc is finalized. Each session must also be written in the same format.
Playing MP3/WMA
When a disc with recorded MP3/WMA files is inserted, the unit first checks all the files on the
disc. No sound is emitted while the unit is checking the files on the disc. To speed up the file
checking, we recommend recording only MP3/WMA and not creating any unnecessary folders.
MP3/WMA playing time display

The playing time on the display may not be correct, depending on the writing condition of the
MP3/WMA file.
• The playing time on the display may not be correct when VBR Fast Up/Down is operated.
Display order of MP3/WMA file/folder names

Names of MP3/WMA folders and files within the same level are displayed in the following order:
1. MP3/WMA folders displayed first, by ascending order of numbers, letters.
• The files stored below the root of the disc will be stored in the "ROOT FOLDER".

Radio
Sesuaikan panjang antena Anda agar penerimaannya terbaik. Biasanya, panjang antena yang
pendek adalah yang terbaik di kota besar, dan antena yang diperpanjang sepenuhnya adalah
yang terbaik untuk penerimaan di daerah yang jauh dari kota.
Untuk mencegah kerusakan pada antena, pastikan antena tersebut ditarik sebelum Anda
membawa masuk kendaraan ke dalam ruang cuci mobil otomatis.
Tip penerimaan FM

Saat mendengarkan radio di dalam kendaraan, beberapa karakteristik FM mungkin tampak
bermasalah, tetapi sebenarnya tidak bermasalah. Hal ini terjadi karena penerimaan terus
berubah jika kendaraan bergerak. Bangunan, medan, jarak sinyal dan kebisingan dari
kendaraan lainnya menghambat penerimaan yang baik. Karakteristik berikut ini sepenuhnya
normal untuk area penerimaan tertentu, dan karakteristik tersebut tidak menunjukkan adanya
masalah dengan radio itu sendiri.
Fading (Pelemahan) dan Drifting (Pergeseran) Frekuensi: Jangkauan FM terbatas sekitar 40

km, kecuali untuk beberapa stasiun dengan daya tinggi.
Jika kendaraan bergerak menjauh dari pemancar stasiun yang diinginkan, sinyal akan
cenderung melemah dan bergeser frekuensinya. Ini adalah kondisi umum pada FM dan
disertai dengan distorsi.
Fading dan drifting dapat diminimalkan ke tingkat tertentu dengan menyetel halus atau
menyetel radio ke sinyal yang lebih kuat.
Statis dan Fluttering (Perubahan Level Sinyal): Jika jalur transmisi tanpa hambatan (line-of-

sight) antara pemancar dan kendaraan terhalang oleh bangunan besar atau semacamnya,
suara radio dapat disertai dengan bunyi statis atau gangguan yang disebabkan oleh fluttering
(perubahan level sinyal) yang memang telah menjadi karakteristik FM. Begitu juga, kebisingan
yang diakibatkan oleh fluttering terkadang terdengar saat Anda mengemudi di sepanjang jalan
dengan jalur berpohon.
Bunyi statis dan geletar ini dapat dikurangi dengan menyesuaikan kontrol nada atau
mematikan respons treble sampai gangguan berlalu.
Multipath: Karena karakteristik pemantulan FM, sinyal langsung dan yang dipantulkan dapat

mencapai antena secara bersamaan (multipath), dan saling meniadakan.
Saat kendaraan bergerak melalui titik mati elektronik, dapat terjadi geletar sementara atau
hilangnya penerimaan.
Pertukaran Stasiun: Jika dua stasiun FM lokasinya berdekatan, dan sinyal asli terganggu oleh

titik mati elektronik, seperti bunyi statis dan area multipath, terkadang sinyal kedua yang lebih
kuat akan dipilih sampai sinyal asli kembali.
Pertukaran ini juga dapat terjadi saat Anda berkendara menjauh dari stasiun yang dipilih dan
mendekati stasiun lainnya dengan sinyal yang lebih kuat.

Tentang pemutar CD
Untuk kinerja pemutar CD dan CD tertinggi, perhatikan tindakan
pencegahan berikut:
• Hanya gunakan disk padat dengan tanda logo CD pada sisi labelnya.
• Unit ini dapat memutar disk CD-R (CD-Recordable/CD-Bisa rekam)
dan CD-RW (CD-Rewritable/CD-Bisa tulis) yang ditujukan untuk
musik. Pastikan untuk menyelesaikan proses finalisasi disk sebelum

menggunakannya. Beberapa disk mungkin tidak dapat diputar, tergantung
pada peralatan yang digunakan untuk mengedit.
• Jangan sekali-kali memasukkan apa pun kecuali disk padat biasa ke
dalam slot disk.
• Hindari memutar CD sambil mengemudi di jalan yang kasar, karena

getaran parah dapat mengakibatkan lompatan suara atau kesalahan
operasi lainnya.
• Dehumidifikasi:
Dalam cuaca dingin atau hujan, seperti halnya kaca interior yang menjadi
berkabut, embun (kondensasi air) juga dapat muncul pada produk.
Jika hal ini terjadi, pemutaran disk dapat terputus-putus atau tidak
memungkinkan. Hilangkan kelembapan udara di dalam kendaraan untuk
sementara waktu sebelum melanjutkan pemutaran.
• Membersihkan slot disk:

Slot disk cenderung kotor. Sesekali bersihkan slot disk untuk mencegah
bertumpuknya debu dari goresan disk.
Tentang disk padat

• Jangan biarkan disk yang dikeluarkan berada di dalam slot disk untuk
waktu yang sangat lama. Disk dapat melengkung. Simpan disk pada
wadahnya dan jauhkan dari suhu dan kelembapan yang tinggi.
• Hindari menggunakan disk yang sangat tergores atau melengkung. Disk
yang tergores dapat mengakibatkan suaranya lompatan atau macet, dan
disk yang melengkung dapat tersangkut di dalam unit.
• Jika disk kotor, usap secara perlahan menggunakan kain bebas serat yang
lembut, dari bagian tengah ke tepi. Untuk menghilangkan sidik jari atau
sisa minyak lainnya dari permukaan disk, gunakan cairan atau semprotan
pembersih CD komersial. (Jangan sekali-kali menggunakan semprotan
pembersih rekaman, pelarut, atau pembersih abrasif pada disk padat.)

• Jangan sekali-kali menaruh pita, label, atau menggores pada disk. Hal ini
akan membuat disk tidak dapat diputar.
• Hindari menyentuh permukaan perekaman pada saat memegang disk;

• Anda mungkin melihat bahwa beberapa disk merek baru kasar di sekitar

diakibatkan oleh aksesori ini dapat menimbulkan masalah pada produk.
• Jangan memasang pelindung berbentuk cincin (atau aksesori lainnya)
ke disk CD. Pelindung ini tersedia secara komersial dan dikatakan
untuk melindungi disk CD dan untuk meningkatkan kualitas suara (serta
efek anti getaran), tetapi pelindung tersebut bahayanya lebih banyak
daripada manfaatnya jika digunakan secara teratur. Masalah paling umum
adalah masalah terkait Masukkan/Keluarkan dan masalah "Tidak terjadi
Pemutaran" yang dikarenakan adanya cincin pelindung di dalam produk.

Tentang audio Bluetooth
Menyambungkan pemutar audio atau ponsel yang kompatibel dengan Bluetooth (selanjutnya
disebut sebagai "perangkat portabel") ke unit ini memungkinkan Anda untuk mengoperasikan
perangkat portabel tersebut dari unit tersebut dan mendengarkan musik.

Mendaftarkan perangkat Bluetooth

Sebelum menggunakan perangkat Bluetooth (pemutar portabel/ponsel) dengan unit ini, Anda
harus mendaftarkan perangkat Bluetooth pada unit ini. Hingga lima perangkat Bluetooth yang
daftar didaftarkan.

2. Putar untuk memilih "Bluetooth", lalu tekan .

4. Operasikan perangkat Bluetooth untuk didaftarkan.

Untuk perangkat Bluetooth yang tidak mendukung Perpasangan Sederhana

Masukkan sandi ke dalam perangkat Bluetooth.
Untuk perangkat Bluetooth yang mendukung Perpasangan Sederhana

Pilih "Ya" untuk mendaftarkan perangkat Bluetooth.
• Tergantung pada jenis perangkat Bluetooth, pendaftaran dapat dilakukan secara
otomatis.
Catatan
• Jika perangkat Bluetooth memiliki fungsi pemutar musik dan ponsel, kedua fungsi tersebut akan
didaftarkan secara bersamaan. Saat menghapus perangkat Bluetooth, kedua fungsi tersebut akan
dihapus secara bersamaan.
• Jika ponsel tidak terdaftar, menekan akan memasuki mode telepon, lalu tampilan pendaftaran akan
otomatis muncul.

Mengatur sambungan otomatis ke perangkat Bluetooth
Jika "BT power" diatur ke HIDUP lalu sakelar penyalaan diputar ke ACC, unit akan otomatis
disambungkan dengan perangkat Bluetooth yang terdaftar.

mempercepat pemeriksaan file, sebaiknya hanya rekam MP3/WMA dan jangan membuat folder
yang tidak perlu.
