IGTEE2 TITLE: SRE - Semantic Rules Engine for the Industrial Gateways

In modern industrial field, the requirement for monitoring and controlling system is one
of the most important criteria for minimizing the power consumption. The development
of infrastructure such as high speed railways and smart cities, more and more safety
infrastructure needs to be monitored. In the meantime, a lot of old infrastructure such
as pipelines, bridges and building needs to be monitored for lifecycle assessment,
improving safety and security. New infrastructure is required for low cost, reliable
monitoring... This project mainly focuses on the controlling of home appliances
remotely when the user is away from the place. The system is SMS based and user uses
wireless technology (GSM). The system uses GSM technology thus providing
universally access to the system for automated appliance control. Micro Controller is
the core component of this project. The objective of this project is to investigate a cost
effective solution that will provide controlling of home appliances remotely. The
motivation was to facilitate the users to automate their homes having universal access.
The home appliances control system with an affordable cost was thought to be built that
should be mobile providing remote access to the appliances. This work includes the

etc.

IGTEE3 TITLE: COTTON FLUCKER AND FABRIC FOR IRRIGATION AND FARM
MONITORING

Agriculture contributes to a major portion of India’s GDP. Two major issues in modern
agriculture are water scarcity and high labor costs. These issues can be resolved sing
agriculture task automation, which encourages precision agriculture.Considering
abundance of sunlight in India, this paper discusses the design and development of an
cotton flucker and fabric for irrigation and farm monitoringthat automates irrigation
task and enables remote farm monitoring. The Agribot is developed using an Arm
pucker. It harvests cotton when it is ready for harvesting. While executing the task of
irrigation, it moves along a pre-determined path of a given farm, and senses soil
moisture content and temperature at regular points. At each sensing point, data acquired
from multiple sensors is processed locally to decide the necessity of irrigation and
accordingly farm is watered. Further, at the remote server, raw data is processed using
signal processing operations such asfiltering, compression and prediction.
IGTEE4 TITLE: ECSHUB - An Off Grid Bunk

While electric vehicles are generally seen as clean vehicles, they are not completely
clean because the production of electricity might generate emissions as well. This paper
on a solar powered electric vehicle charging station is a working solution to close the
gap in achieving a truly renewable and clean vehicle. The current scenario of today’s
solar energy ecosystem is that, it is highly unstructured and localized. There are about
50 solar power plants in India but none of them are connected in a manner that there
would be a method to perform analytical analysis of the solar energy produced. Today,
with the advancements in sensor technology it is a very viable option to connect the
solar energy systems to the GSM. Once these systems are connected to the user can
receive the message, the analysis of the performance, productivity and efficiency can
be calculated very easily. This paper aims at finding a possible and viable method to
connect the solar powered electric vehicle charging station and perform analytical
operations to increase efficiency of Solar Energy.

IGTEE5 TITLE: Novel Reconfigurable Microgrid Architecture with Renewable Energy

Sources

This paper proposes a novel reconfigurable GSM architecture based controlling scheme
for the renewable energy sourceslike photovoltaic and wind based dc sources. As
renewable energy sources with significantly different dynamic behaviour and dissimilar
generating capacities are involved, disruptive effects such as voltage dips and
fluctuations, frequency variation, and harmonic distortion are likely. This is handled
through centralized monitoring in conjunction with hierarchical control. The reliability

further processed to control other gadgets (like water pump)in the Agricultural fields.
IGTEE7 TITLE: IOT Based Smart Talking Energy Meter

In this paper smart energy meter with GSM model for prepaid and postpaid system is
proposed. Due to this system the user has ability to select prepaid or postpaid mode as
per his/her requirement. In prepaid mode balance is reduced as per energy is consumed.
When the balance is low user gets a “Balance is low” message. If balance reaches to
zero then with the help of relay power automatically gets cut off. If the account is
recharged then the user gets uninterrupted power supply. In postpaid system with the
help of GSM module MSEB gets the message of how much units a particular user is
used and according to that data MSEB sends bill by post. The aim of the project is to
minimize the queue at the energy meter billing counters and to restrict the usage of
energy meter automatically, if the bill is not paid. The project also aims at proposing a
system that will reduce the loss of power and revenue due to power thefts and other
illegal activities.

IGTEE9 TITLE: SMART SOIL TESTING SYSTEM FOR FARMERS

At present soil ingredients are being tested only at Soil Analysis Centre, where they use
primitive method. At present Government survey department is tedious in surveying the
farm lands. So that farmers are suffering much. Many toll-free Agri-call centers are
there but without testing soil they simply advise to the farmers about the usage of
fertilizers which is improper. To overcome these problems, the proposed project helps
the farmers to test the soil themselves easily.

IGTEE10 TITLE: TALKING INSTRUMENT – ELECTRIC LAB

Laboratory experiments are integral part of science and engineering product based
companies in R&D department, Product development industries and in colleges.
Automation is changing the nature of these laboratories, and the focus of the system
designer is on the availability of various interfacing tools to access the laboratory
hardware remotely with the integration of computer-supported learning environment.
This project is about design and implementation of a embedded system to monitor and
record key parameters of a transformer like load currents, temperature and voltage. The
idea of on-line monitoring system integrates a global service mobile (GSM) Modem,
with a standalone single chip microcontroller and different sensors. It is installed at the
transformer site and the above parameters are recorded using the analog to digital
converter (ADC) of the embedded system. The obtained parameters are processed and
recorded in the system memory. If any abnormality or an emergency situation occurs
the system sends SMS (short message service) messages to the mobile phones
containing information about the abnormality according to some predefined instructions
programmed in the microcontroller.

IGTEE11 TITLE: IOT Based Underground Cable Fault Detection

The project is intended to detect the location of fault in underground cable lines from
the base station in kilometers using aRenesas micro-controller.This project uses the
standard concept of Ohms law i.e., when a low DC voltage is applied at the feeder end
through a series resistor to the Cable lines, then current would vary depending upon the
location of fault in the short circuited cable. In the urban areas, the electrical cables run
in undergrounds instead of overhead lines. Whenever the fault occurs in underground
cable it is difficult to detect the exact location of the fault for process of repairing that
particular cable. The proposed system finds the exact location of the fault. This system
uses a Renesasmicro-controller and a rectified power supply. Here the current sensing
circuits made with combination of resistors are interfaced to Renesascontroller with
help of the ADC device for providing digital data to the microcontroller representing
the cable length in KM’s. The fault creation is made by the set of switches. The relays
are controlled by the relay driver IC which is used for switching the power sequentially
to all the lines. A 16x2 LCD display connected to the microcontroller to display the
information. In case of short circuit (Line to Ground), the voltage across series resistors
changes accordingly, which is then fed to an ADC to develop precise digital data to a
programmed Renesasboard that further displays fault location in kilometers.
The project future can be implemented by using capacitor in an ac circuit to measure
the impedance which can even locate the open circuited cable.
IGTEE12 TITLE: FARMER FRIENDLY SOLAR BASED VIRTUAL FENCING FOR
RURAL AGRICULTURE WITH BATTERY REVERSE CHARGE
PROTECTION

Virtual fences can be used to protect farmhouses, farmlands, forest bungalows,

etc from animals. In a way, these simulate the job of a cowboy or forest guard. Already
popular in countries where manpower is expensive, electric fences are slowly becoming
popular in India as well. These control the animals by giving them a short, sharp but
safe shock that teaches them to stay away from the fence. Thus electric fences are
economical and practical solutions to maximize field production through controlled
grazing. Virtual fencing is safe, as its output is discrete (not continuous). There is certain
time duration between two pulses that prevents prolonged shocking to animals or
people. In addition, the short ‘on’-time prevents heat build-up. This fence system is
powered by a 12V rechargeable battery. A solar panel is connected to the battery to
charge on day time. Solar based virtual fences use the principle of converting solar
energy into electrical energy and giving electronic shock while touching the fences.
Electronic fences are used at many places such as forest area, farm, government area
etc. to protect them against animals and thefts The solar energy is converted to the
electrical energy which is in the form of unregulated DC voltage. This unregulated DC
voltage is converted to the regulated DC voltage and further converted to the AC voltage
using inverter. And small current helps to give short but sharp shock so animals and
thefts stay away from that area. The change in current is sensed and gives alert to the
owner. Owner will know who is entering in the farm by the device IR sensor which
senses the entry of the person.

IGTEE13 TITLE: Control and Operation of Grid connected DC Source based Distributed
Generation

Grid Interconnection and Islanded Operation of Mini-Grid Power Systems is intended

to help meet the widespread need for guidance, standards, and procedures for
interconnecting mini-grids with the central electric grid as rural electrification advances
in developing countries, bringing these once separate power systems together. This
project aims to help owners and operators of renewable energy mini-grids understand
the technical options available, safety and reliability issues, and engineering and
administrative costs of different choices for grid interconnection. Grid connected
operation of Distributed generation (DG) is yet another approach to provide reliable and
secured power. The operational issues of grid connected DG is the focus of research at
present to achieve adequacy and security. The islanding is the situation where DG
continues to operate with the utility disconnected. It is customary to detect islanding
when it occurs to ensure continued stable operation along with
safety of linemen and the customers’ equipment. This paper deals with the DC source
based DG integrated with the utility and operates in grid connected and intentional
islanding mode. Passive islanding detection technique is used to detect the islanding.
The DG operates at grid voltage and frequency. Intentional islanding is tested by
developing the model for seamless operation using embedded system and results are
obtained. The results validate the effective operation of the proposed controller and
power electronic devices.

IGTEE14 TITLE: Bluetooth embedded robotic with agriculture plowing seeding and grass
cutting powered by solar energy

In India, near about 70% people are dependent upon agriculture. So the agriculture
system in India should be advanced to reduce the efforts of farmers. Various number of
operations are performed in the agriculture field like seeding, weeding, waste planet
cutting, plowing etc. Very basic and significant operation is seeding plowing, plant
cutting. But the present methods of seeding, plowing and plant cutting are problematic.
The equipments used for seed sowing are very difficult and inconvenient to handle. So
there is a need to develop equipment which will reduce the efforts of farmers. This
system introduces a control mechanism which aims to drop seeds at particular position
with specified distance between two seeds and lines while sowing. The drawbacks of
the existing system will be removed successfully in this automatic machine.

IGTEE15 TITLE: Solar powered house and transmitting the extra power to the government
mains

Green energy includes solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, hydro etc, which is
widely used and developed in recent years. Especially, Taiwan, which possesses
subtropical climate, is very suitable for the development of solar energy system. The
application of solar energy is more universal in daily now. In general, the solar power
generation and solar illumination system are more popular for people. SOLAR energy
is one of the renewable energy which is avail abundant from nature in order to use it
efficiently we have come up with the project POWER PRODUCTION USING
SOLAR.
IGTEE16 TITLE: Wireless speed control of single phase AC Induction motor

Single phase induction motors are widely used in home appliances and Industrial
control because of their low cost and rugged construction. Many industrial processes
require variable speed drives for various applications. Many applications need variable
speed operation and one of them is a simple fan load. The RF generator which generates
the analog output signal for the corresponding button pressed using PCB. This analogue
output is fed to the RF Transmitter and sent through the antenna. At the other end, the
RF Receiver picks up the signal and feeds it to the signal decoder, there the decoding
takes place and this decoding data is given to the Micro controller RL78. The software
in the Micro controller receives the signal and accordingly drives the TRIAC Circuit,
which in turn is connected to load serially which is used to generate the PWM pulses
for speed control of the single phase induction motor. The main aim of the this project
is to design an real time electronic control system that can be used to control the speed
of motors kept at remote locations using an embedded technology.

IGTEE17 TITLE: FAULT & OVERLOAD DETECTION & CORRECTION IN AC

MOTOR WITH ON AND OFF CONTROL

The main aim of this project is not only to ON or OFF the motor, but this module has a
built in intelligence, were the module will consider the required condition to ON/OFF
the motor. For every process, the module will send the acknowledgement.

IGTEE18 TITLE: Wireless power theft, overvoltage and overload monitoring system

Power theft is the biggest problem now a day, which causes huge loss to
electricity boards. And to cover these losses ultimately, price are increased. So if we
can prevent these thefts, we can save lot of power. By keeping track of electricity used,
you determine where the greatest opportunity for energy savings lies. Becoming aware
of overall energy use involves keeping track of the readings on the electric meter. The
normal practice for power theft is to short the input and output terminals or to place
magnet on the wheel in case of old meters. So by sensing current flow through the line
& energy feedback we can prevent it using a circuit breaker. In this system, a micro
controller is interfaced with an energy metering circuit, Voltage Circuits, current
sensing circuit, GSM Module, & Relays to make or break power line. At the sub-station
end, GSM sends used to communicate with all energy meters and also to send alerts to
home owner about overvoltage and overload. In normal condition, micro controller
reads energy pulses & current signals. If current is drawing &energy pulses are normal,
then no power theft is being done & the o/p is connected. If current is drawing & energy
pulses are not coming, then it indicates that power theft. So microcontroller trips the o/p
using relay. This information is sent to substation using wireless communication
through GSM .In the substation, it receives the information in the form of text SMS, we
can know at which house power theft occurred.

IGTEE19 TITLE: RENESAS Based Renewable Energy – 12v DC Power Generation Using
Back EMF & Solar

The application of solar energy and motor is more universal in daily now. In general,
the solar power generation and solar illumination system are more popular for people.
With regard to solar illumination system, which can be built while combined the charger
and converter structure. It can charge the battery during the day, while lighting the LED
module at night. In recent year, many charge methods have been widely used and
discussed. For example constant current charging, constant voltage charging and reflex
charging, etc. Reflex charging needs large input power, constant current charging is
easily overcharge and constant voltage charging is unable to determine the charge
current during initial charge stage. So there are still some disadvantages and insufficient
while use unique charge method. In other sides, common linear dimming methods
include constant voltage dimming scheme and constant current dimming scheme. The
application of motor is also vast process in industrial and company sides, so likewise
solar energy the motor energy can also used for charge battery during the motor rotation
by back emf ,this can done by coupling the motors to produce the charge to battery .
Among the existing power batteries, lithium batteries possess higher energy density,
lighter weight, and compact size. However, the lithium battery is still suitable for lower
power applications due to high cost, temperature rise, and lower output current at
instant.

Due to continuous increase of population, this century the old system unfortunately
suffers from many problems i-e limited production of electricity, while demand is going
to be higher side on daily bases. To resolve this and similar other problems a quantum
leap is required to connect communication via information technology. This dive
towards a new efficient technology is called Smart Grid. The central vision of smart
grid is the development of smart appliances that will allow autonomous software agents,
working as consumers to optimize the use of smart devices while interacting with agents
at grid. Overall electricity consumption increased, resulted to increase the amount of
electricity bills. Then we need efficient electricity consumption management techniques
having minimum user interaction. This paper will discuss different existing
methodologies used for energyoptimization in smart grid and also portrays how
consumer agents can reduce their electricity bills by utilizing incentives from energy
suppliers. Different load prediction and game theoretic methodologies for energy
management system are also discussed; at the end a novel smart home framework is
proposed, which can automate the smart home by considering the energy optimization
techniques. The stated system will not only reduce the co2 emission, which is a main
cause of global warming, but also reduced the cost of energy consumption for end users.

IGTEE21 TITLE: Fire Avoidance and Electric Circuit Breaker System in Train along with
Alerting Approaching Station

The railway system is an important transportation system in our country.

Most of the trains in our country are the induction trains and hence there are chances
of fire mishaps. Fire on a running train is more catastrophic than on a stationary one,
since fanning by winds helps spread the fire to other coaches very soon after the
accident. Moreover, passengers sometimes jump out of a running train on fire resulting
in increased casualties. These fire accidents are causing serious threat to lives of people.
Although there are sophisticated protection parameters in the existing system but the
time taken by those systems to detect the accident and to inform the respective
authorities is high.

systems, card readers, and building controls are some of the areas wherein plenty of
research in the use of technology is widely taking place as we speak. Along with
hardware the use of software has become very important thereby simplifying tasks,
reducing size of equipment and hence cutting down on cost of the equipment. The
demand on the electric power for the household, commercial and industrial loads is on
the increase. Also, the management of electric distribution system is becoming more
complex. Lack of information at the base station regarding status of the distribution
network has been identified as the major bottleneck to its effective monitoring and
control. The work described is a development of Microcontroller-based Protection of
Electric Distribution system for the purpose of effective monitoring and control of
distribution system. A powerful GSM networking is designed to send data from
Distribution side to the Sub-station. In general, the proposed design is developed for the
user to easily recognize the distribution transformer is safe or unsafe and the distribution
line that is suffered by fault. The ultimate objective is to monitor the distribution line
status continuously and hence to guard the fault of distribution line due to the constraints
such as overvoltage, under voltage, SLG faults. If any of these does occurs then a
message will be sent to the designed controlling unit or substation.

IGTEE34 TITLE: COIN BASED UNIVERSAL MOBILE BATTERY CHARGER USING

SOLAR PANEL

The coin-based mobile battery charger developed for providing a unique service to the
rural public where grid power is not available for partial/full daytime and a
source of revenue for site providers. The coin-based mobile battery charger can
be quickly and easily installed outside any business premises. The mobile phone
market is a vast industry, and has spread into rural areas as a essential means of
communication. While the urban population use more sophisticated mobiles with good
power batteries lasting for several days, the rural population buy the pre owned mobile
phones that require charging frequently. Many times battery becomes flat in the
middle of conversation particularly at inconvenient times when access to a standard
charger isn't possible. The coin-based mobile battery chargers are designed to solve this
problem. The user has to plug the mobile phone into one of the adapters and insert a
coin; the phone will then be given a micro-pulse for charging. It does not bring a mobile
from 'dead' to fully charged state. The charging capacity of the mobile is designed with
the help of pre defined values. It is, of course, possible to continue charging the mobile
by inserting more coins. This compact and lightweight product is designed to cater for
the growing number of rural mobile users worldwide. A suitable micro controller is
programmed for all the controlling applications .the sorce for charging is obtained from
solar energy.

accumulate damage during Their operational lifetime, due to seismic events,
Unforeseen foundation settlement, material aging, design error, Etc. Periodic
monitoring of the structure for such damage is Therefore a key step in rationally
planning the maintenance needed to guarantee an adequate level of safety and
serviceability. However, in order for the installation of a permanently Installed sensing
system in buildings to be economically viable.

IGTEE36 TITLE: Antismuggling System for Trees in Forest with Solar power generation

From many years we are getting news about smuggling of the trees such as sandal,
Sagwan etc. These trees are very expensive and less obtainable in the market. To avoid
such type of smuggling and to save the forests around the globe some preventive
systems need to be developed. We are forming a system which can be used to restrict
this smuggling. The suggested system will consist of two modules which are described
below, 1) Tree Unit 2) Main Server Unit (base station). ]Every tree having one small
electronics division which consists of Renesas controller, 3 Sensors and Solar power.
There will be one area selected. The data of different tree units can be collected by this
units. The each tree unit will give the information to base station using GSM module.
At main server GUI using one authorized person whom received the message and he
will taking action to provide security. This data can be used by concern forest authorities
to take preventive action.

IGTEE37 TITLE: SOLAR POWERED ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION
