CONTROL LEADS GENERATOR OPERATION
Operation of the generator involves the stator, voltage
regulator, exciter stator and rotor, rotating diode
assemblies, and the main rotor. See Figure 2-3. A per-
manent magnet embedded in one exciter field pole

Section 4. Generator/Regulator Tests
GENERAL
All of the following Adjustments and Tests can be per-

The commutating reactor is shown in Figure 4-1. It is


referenced L21 on the schematics. Only one winding of

The transformer regulator circuit supplies a feedback
voltage (dependent on load) to the exciter stator.
Voltage adjustment is made by changing tap connec-
tions on the transformer. When replacement is
necessary, install leads to the same terminals of the
new transformer. To change voltage, refer to the
model wiring diagram or the generator reconnection
diagrams under Test [Q].

repairable. When replacing a sensor, do not use a
substitute item since resistance units are matched t o
the gauge they supply. Cutoff switches are close tol-
erance parts made for a specific application.

Oil Pressure Monitors


Refer to Figure 5-2 for the location of the oil pressure
sensors.

changes with oil pressure and results in a reading on
the oil pressure meter. The meter range is0 to 100 psi

Control Power Latch (S6): This oil pressure switch
closes at 5 psi (34 kPa) and provides a latch function
for the control circuits. When closed, the switch supp- ES-1298-1
lies a ground path for relay K12 on the engine monitor
