On Saturday I get up at eight o’clock. Then I make my breakfast and I take a bath then I wash my
clothes.

After that I do my homework. At half past twelve I go to my aunt’s house to have some chit chats
and sometimes we drink “tuba”. Of course, it is just for recreational purposes. It is only the time
where we are reunited with my cousins and my brother in my grandmother’s house.

At 6 o’clock I dinner with my ate and my lola. Then I watch a film, for two or three hours then I
go to bed and I sleep a lot.

On Sunday I get up at ten o’clock and then I make my breakfast. After that I do some house hold

movie in the TV. In the afternoon I meet my uncles and cousins or I go with my friends. Then we
go for dinner. At ten o’clock I come back. At half past eleven o’clock I go to bed.
2. Cause and Effect

(Depression on SHS)

Depression is a disorder affecting mood and general outlook. A loss of interest in activities or
feeling sad and down are symptoms that characterize this condition. Even though most people
feel sad or down for brief periods, the following are the things that causes depression in Senior
High School:

a. Financial Worries

It is undeniable that most of us Senior High School (SHS) students come from a poor if not below
average family, and our school requires many projects, handouts, and any other requirements by
the teachers for the sake of our grades. Because of our financial deficiency we worries, along
with our parents, where will we get money for the compliance of the different requirements,
because if we’re not able to comply, our grades will be badly affected and causing us depression.

b. Academic Pressure

We students are bombarded with lots of academic stuff. Many teachers of different subjects are
giving us examinations, both written and practical exams. Aside from examinations they also give
us many requirements that necessitates to be submitted on the given time frame because if
submitted beyond the deadline, it might not be accepted. Hence why, in order to comply all
these, students invests sleepless nights, empty stomachs, tired mind and body and empty
pockets and its causes us to be depressed.

c. Relationships

Today in our society, indulging a relationship in high school is becoming common. It is where a
certain person starts to be introduce in the world of love where oneself feels for the first time
the magic of love. However, as they said “walang forever”, most of these relationship, if not all,
ends in breakups and leaving the students a broken and crying heart. Breakups often will
precipitate a bout depressive feelings. Risks of depression related to a breakup include intrusive
thoughts, difficulty controlling those thoughts, and trouble sleeping.

With all the causes of depression state above comes its different effects to the students.

 Withdrawal from socializing

 Loss of interest in previously enjoyed hobbies or activities
 Loss of interest to go to school
 Constant irritability or sadness
 Feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing
 Suicide
3. Spatial

(Beauty of TSCHI)

Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries (TSCHI) has a good environment. Though
it is surrounded with towering buildings, it has many colorful ornamental plants which are
refreshing and nice to look at. As I enter the school every day, I always observed that the
surroundings were clean and well-managed. Also, my co-students looks cool in our uniforms
since they wore it properly.

TSCHI is now turning into an A class high school in the Municipality of Tanauan because many
students are enrolling here every year. Furthermore, the teachers are really competent. They
ensure that their students learn the lessons every day. A part form that, TSHCI produces
competent students and are NC 2 holders.

The beauty of a school cannot always defined or be able to seen through is towering buildings,
waxed floors, clean surroundings and etc. rather the beauty can be seen in its ability to produce
competent students imbued with positive values.
4. Compare and Contrast

(Junior High School and Senior High School)

The grading system in Junior High school goes like this 20% for the final examinations, 40% for
written tests and 40% for the performance task, some subjects in Junior High School have a
different grading system like for example, 20% final examinations, 35% written works then 45%
for the performance tasks.

There are some subjects in Junior High School that have a different grading system like for
example, 20% final examinations, 35% written works then 45% for the performance tasks

As you can see in Junior High School, the performance task would always hold the highest
percentage in every subject, while in Senior High the grading system differs from the kind of
subject, per each strand they have this what you call the specialized subjects, applied subjects
and the core subjects. In Senior High, written works can have the highest percentage depending
on the requirements of the subject.

The Schedules are one aspect that verifies a gap between Senior High School and Junior High
School students. In Senior High School, subjects differ based on the student’s track of choice
while in Junior High School, subjects are basic and equal between all classes/sections except for
electives. Unlike Senior High School, the students in Junior High School start their schedule later
and end later due to having less number of subjects compared to Senior High.

However, Junior High School has more co-curricular activities than Senior High School. The core
curriculum also gives an impact between the difference in schedule since their main focus and
targets are different. The schedule in Senior High School gives students an introduction of how
college life will differ from when they were in Junior High School. This will help the Senior High
School students to be prepared for their future whether it’d be entrepreneurship, employment,
skills development, & higher education.

The subjects that we encountered in Junior High School are very different to the subjects seen in
Senior High School. In Junior High School subjects are divided into two, which are the general
subjects and vocational subjects. Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Filipino are
classified as general subjects. They are usually continuations of lessons from the previous year,
and are distinguished by adding the year level to the name example: Filipino 8, Social Studies 9.
Vocational subjects are subjects that teach life-skills that are beneficial to students, especially
since it is the 21st century. Subjects such as Computer and Home Economics are taught for grade
7-9. For grade 10, electives are provided to give then a preview for the subjects to be tackled in
Senior High School.
On the other hand, Senior High School provides core subjects and specialized subjects as well as
applied subjects. Core subjects are subjects that are to be taken by all strands such as General
Mathematics, Pagsulat sa Filipino sa Piling Larangan, Personality Development. Specialized
subjects are unique per strand, some examples are: Pre-Calculus, Business Ethics. Applied
Subjects are subjects like Research in Daily Life 1 & 2 as well as Applied Economics. Subjects are
changed per semester to cater the needs of the student for the specific strand.
5. Problem

(Smoking)

The usage of Tobacco has predominant adverse effects on human health and one of the
most common problems that are killing people today, all over the world. Smoking can affect not
only the smoker's health but also the non-smokers and gradually kills both smokers and non-
smokers. People who choose to smoke are more likely to develop serious diseases, such as lung
cancer, heart disease, and/or emphysema. There are many more diseases and side effects, but
these are the most well-known.

Cigarettes contain unbelievably atrocious ingredients that are horrible for a person's body. They
consist of different types of chemicals, some of which are cancer causing.

Cigarettes contains carcinogens, which are cancer causing. The following are
compounded into cigarettes: benzene (paint), formaldehyde (embalming fluid), ammonia (hair
dye, toilet cleaner, etc), acetone (nail polish remover), tar, nicotine (insecticide/ addictive),
carbon monoxide (automobile exhaust), arsenic, and hydrogen cyanide (poisons). However, most
of us do not realize what a cigarette consists of.

Moreover, students of TSCHI who smokes are growing in number. Smoking is not suited
for us because we are students. It will greatly affect our health and will result a poor
performance at school.
6. Solutions

The only solution to this problem is the implementation of the Executive Order No. 26 of
President Duterte here in our Municipality by our Mayor. The said EO 26 forbids smoking in
public places, selling of cigarettes and smoking 100 meters from school.

Aside from this, our school principal can make a law in the school, criminalizing cigarette
smoking inside the campus. Students who will be caught smoking will face consequences.

Moreover, the Principal can write a complaint letter to Mayor about the stores selling
cigarettes near schools so that the said stores will be reprimanded by their doing.
