Electric shock:
The high voltage danger exists in the installation and
maintenance of UPS system. Direct contact or contact with
high voltage and mains through damp object will cause vital
danger. Pay attention to caution sings and sentences on the
equipment.
1. Both the input voltage and output voltage of UPS are high
voltage. Direct contact or contact with high voltage and mains
through damp object will cause vital danger.
2. The UPS has multiple power supplies. Switch off AC power and
DC power before maintenance. Even if all power supplies are
switched off, the internal capacitance of UPS will have charge on
it. So, wait for the release of charge more than 10 minutes
before dismantling the cabinets.
It is recommended to check the power input of UPS and the
internal parts that may be contacted with a voltmeter before
maintenance, to ensure that all power supplies are switched off
and in the safe state.
3. Do not wear any conductive object like watch, hand chain,
bracelet and finger ring, during operations.
System Overview
Introduction
ZXUPS S606/S610 are digitized, intelligent, high-frequency and on-
line UPS. Their appearance is shown in Figure 1.
Application
ZXUPS S606/S610 applies to the power distribution system of 220
VAC and 50/60 Hz and adopts the single-phase input/single-phase
output mode. The output capacities are listed as follows,
Features
Adopts advanced active power factor correction (APFC) technology:
The input power factor is higher than 0.98, thus reducing
interference with AC source, which makes ZXUPS S606/S610 a
new generation of “green” power supply.
With advanced DSP, the UPS provides high-quality power with
waveform distortion of less than 2% and voltage stability of 1%.
Large range of AC input voltage.
Adopts advanced phase-locked loop (APLL) technology.
Automatic shut-down and power-on: If the UPS runs in the battery
mode with low battery voltage, it will shut down automatically to
protect the batteries from over-discharging; and it will start up
automatically upon the mains supply recovery.
The UPS supports dual-UPS hot backup mode.
Automatic bypass function: The UPS automatically switches to the
bypass mode in case of its overload, failure or protection mode.
For maintenance, the maintenance switch enables the user to stop
the output of the UPS, and let the loads be powered by mains
directly.
Friendly user interfaces: The operating status, parameters and alarm
information are displayed in terms of figure and text on the LCD.

Battery Maintenance
Normally, new battery life span ranges from three to five years. It
is gradually affected by factors such as environment, battery model
and proper/improper operation.
Routine Maintenance
The following items only serve as supplement to the battery manuals.
1. Quarterly start up the UPS and charge them over 24 hours if the
batteries are not used for long.
2. Before using the UPS, start it up and charge batteries for 24
hours. During charging, the UPS can operate. But battery backup
time will be less than the rated value if mains power fails during
charging.
3. Discharge and then recharge batteries once in every four to six
months. For standard configuration UPS type, charge batteries at
least 24 hours each time.
Refer to the “Battery Maintenance” section for more details.
4. In high temperature area, discharge and then recharge batteries
once bimonthly. For standard configuration UPS type, charge
batteries for at least 24 hours.
5. Periodically check the battery charger. Make sure that batteries
are not over-charged or not completely charged for long. Make
sure that they are not over-discharged. Recharge batteries in
time (recommended within 24 hours) after discharge. Never
discharge any battery before charging it completely; otherwise,
battery capacity will be reduce and even battery will be damaged.
6. When the UPS is not in use for long, discharge and recharge
batteries periodically to prevent battery from being damaged
due to self discharge.
7. yearly check whether battery cables are reliably connected.
Precautions
Warning:
Only qualified personnels are allowed to replace batteries.
Warning:
Only qualified maintenance professionals are allowed to
perform UPS online maintenance.
The process take more than 5 minutes. Make sure that there is no
electric charge before removing the external cover the cabinet .
Maintenance Before touching any internal components, use a voltmeter to
measure the voltage of the components and the voltage of UPS
input terminals to make sure that the power is off.

3. Turn off the QF3 switch to ensure that the output of the UPS
loop is cut off.
iii. Press the button on the panel of the slave UPS. The
slave UPS is shut down when the LCD backlight turns off.
iv. Turn off the AC INPUT and AC OUTPUT switches at the
back of the slave UPS.
5. Turn off the AC input terminal switch QF1 and then turn off
the two battery rack switches.
6. Turn off the QF11 switch and the mains supplies the
load through the bypass.
Emergency Handling
The UPS generates an alarm in case of any fault. If the fault affects
the UPS operations/ the output voltage, it will switch to the bypass
mode and the bypass will power the load.
Follow the instructions below for starting up and shutting down the
generator:
AC Over/Under-Voltage Protection
The UPS switches automatically to the bypass mode when the AC
input voltage is over the upper limit, or when the AC input voltage
and the capacity are below the lower limit. In each of these cases,
the battery powers the load through the inverter. There is no need
to perform any operation.

Before starting up the UPS with load, please calculate the load
capacity according to the following methods:
1. Check the nameplate of a load for the rated capacity (VA). If the
rated capacity is marked as W, convert it into VA according to
the following formula:
Apparent power (VA) = Active power (W) ÷ output power factor
2. The sum of the rated capacity (VA) of all the loads should be less
than the rated output capacity of the UPS. Calculate the
maximum number (n) of the loads of the UPS using the following
formula:
n
∑Pi P
i=1
Here, P is the UPS output capacity (VA) and Pi is the rated
capacity (VA) of Load i.
