Narrative Report (Program Committee)

We, the program committee led by Gideon John Casison, were assigned to
accomplish the following tasks:

(1) make the program flow and create a theme and title for the event,

(2) find a venue

(3) invite speakers from different religions; and

(4) to create letters (of invitation for the speakers, of permission for the venue, etc.),
certificates and to buy tokens of appreciation for the guests.

First and foremost, we started to brainstorm right after the committee was formed
to have the theme and title right away as these were one of the essential parts of the
program. Eventually, we had a couple of suggestions ready for approval. The class
chose salvation for its importance to everybody and also because it is one of the
fundamentals of a belief system and/or a religion.

Secondly, after we agreed on the theme and title for the event, we then chose
the emcees. The masters of the ceremony, Cris Jr Vilchez and Janella Marie Ventura,
were chosen within the committee based on their ability to speak and their previous
exposure to public events. Besides being an emcee, Mr. Vilchez too was the one to
coordinate with the Hindu speaker.

Thirdly, Ravelyn Gigawin and Mr. Casison made the program flow to help us and
other committees know the chronological order of the speakers as well as to be
informed of the whole process of the program. Ms. Gigawin was also the one assigned
to buy the tokens for the speakers. Azaliah Enaje was tasked to create all letters for
namely the invitation letters for the speakers, letters for different venue prospects at the
time of planning and she was the one given the duty of buying the frames used to hold
the certificates; the certificates were made by Aisha Ty (Stage and Design Committee
Member).
Lastly, Dominic Duquiatan and Harlyn Seton were the ones who were sent to find
speakers. Ms. Seton was able to contact a Buddhist speaker from Philippine Karma
Khagyu Buddhist Society who fortunately agreed to be a speaker to the event. She
likewise made the invitation card to be given to the speakers. Mr. Duquiatan, even
though the speaker that he tried to invite declined, still managed to give a helping hand
to the group by being a runner. He was the one to go to the computer shop to print the
letters of invitation and request for venues and he too was the one to be sent to the
signatories of the said letters for approval. He was also a part of the doxology.

The total cost of the committee, everything included, was 1500 pesos.

As a whole group, the committee did a good job for only having done this kind if
organizing the first time. We have learned so much from this endeavor.

The next time that we organize and event we will surely keep this kind of
coordination and unity.

As a leader, Mr. Casison made sure that everyone in his committee was given a
task; he utilized every person in his team for the betterment of the whole program.

On the other hand, as first timers, we surely need much improvement. Next time,
we will check the certificates for any error in its format and to have them signed by the
signatories indicated therein. Also, we should have had the venue secured first.

One thing that stood out as an unforgettable one for us all was when all our
speakers backed-out; we had to start again from the beginning. It was due to the mercy
of our Lord God that we were able to find speakers who agreed and are available on the
date of the program. We must make sure that next time this does not happen again.

Overall, the program committee did its purpose. The event itself has brought out
the best in every member of this group. We are certain that every lesson we learned
from this would be carried over to any other activity.
