TOPIC COVERED: PROJECT MANAGEMENT –OVERVIEW & CONTEXT

Project management may seem an easy term with simple definition but it has a broader
concept. In short it is a skill in a resume .The basic guidelines were described in our first
lecture of our course and there are multiple things which I have learned.
 Initially “project” has two key words temporary and unique which means it has a purpose
to create a different result with complete uncertainty. In past, It has been observed that
people were managing projects although there was not a definite term as project management
but they were applying their knowledge , skills and techniques to meet the expectations of
stakeholders .

Communication and perfect leadership are the two main sources to complete the
project like it plays the major role as project manager has to work for the requirements of
stakeholder and rest of the steps are continued further .Project Manager do not require any
scientific skills as management does not work on cause and effect relationship and results
may vary everytime.

Furthermore ,there maybe failures in project management as it is not merely about giving
orders but to serve as a leader and responsibly produce that outcome which has a definite
bargaining ,with better use of resources and for the benefit of the customer and business,too.

To conclude, the job of project manager is not confined to books but to face the problen in
real life situations, to which i believe we will learn in coming days.
