Upcoming Events
Pastor Appreciation Month - October is pastor
appreciation month. Keep our pastor and his family in
your prayers and express your love to them.
Outreach to the homeless continues Sunday, October
28th. Volunteers are needed to serve meals to the
group. Parking is available behind the building at 696
Dundas Street Ark Aid Christian Mission. If you can help,
please speak to Teresa Ferreira.
Manor Rd. @ Talbot, St. Thomas). The St. Thomas SDA
Church is reaching out to the community with a music
concert. Admission is free; A freewill offering will be taken to
benefit the Canadian Bible Society. Refreshments to follow.
November 17, 2018: We were created to celebrate: 120
years ago (July 1898), the first Seventh-day Adventist
Church was organized in London. The Church in London
was birthed amidst disappointments, hostility and
perseverance. On November 17, let us celebrate our
Adventist Heritage, our place in history, and our cultural
diversity as together we endeavor to be a part in growing
God's Kingdom on earth. Dr. Mansfield Edwards, Ontario
Conference President will be the speaker. Following the
Fellowship Lunch, we will have a Songfest, please give
your family's favorite hymn and contemporary song to
Heather Baptiste by October 31. Please share any
pictures or memorabilia of past events, pastors and church
family with Ritchi Pandaleke, they will be scanned and
returned. Place in an envelope, add a brief note about the
picture. If you would like to be part of the planning
committee for the 125th anniversary in 2023, let Clara
Baptiste, or Pastor Atencio know.

October is Child Abuse Prevention Month:Seventh-day
Adventists place a high value on children. In the light of the
Bible they are seen as precious gifts from God entrusted to the
care of parents, family, community of faith and society at large.
Children possess enormous potential for making positive
contributions to the Church and to society. Attention to their
care, protection and development is extremely important. As a
congregation we all have a responsibility to protect our
children from harm and abuse at home church and community,
if that protection is violated, we are to ensure that proper
guidelines for reporting and reconciliation are followed.

Something To Ponder . . .

No matter how high the profession, he whose heart is not filled

with love for God and his fellowmen is not a true disciple of
Christ. Though he should possess great faith and have power
even to work miracles, yet without love his faith would be
worthless. He might display great liberality; but should he, from
some other motive than genuine love, bestow all his goods to
feed the poor, the act would not commend him to the favor of
God. In his zeal he might even meet a martyr’s death, yet if not
actuated by love, he would be regarded by God as a deluded Communication Card
enthusiast or an ambitious hypocrite.
