Card addressing
Each card (except main board) must be set
unique number (via onboard rotary switch) before
install it on motherboard,
Addressing sequence :loop card network card,
repeater card and RS232 communication card,
The number must start from No.1, and
continuously
Installation: recommend the card No.1 installed
on the lowest slot. Then card No.2 on the upper
slot, one by one till last card

Fire Alarm System Configuration

53
System Configuration

To configure a system
1. Decide panel type and quantity. If more than one panel is configured,
add network card to each panel.
2. Decide loop quantity. Remember leave at least 20% of loop quantity for
future expansion.

3. Calculate power consumption and configure PSU as required.

4. Consider of loop power consumption devices (like sounder base and
loop powered sounder). Add more loop cards if needed.
5. Isolators will be required to protect the loop.
6. At least one handhold programmer and one RS232 communication card
is required for each commissioning company.

7. Add any necessary accessories as requirement.

Fire Alarm Control Panel GST-IFP8

84
Basic Software Configuration GST-IFP8

Points should be known before programming GST IFP8

Each devices code include 3 parts:

Device Zone number (3 digit, range 001-999 for GST-IFP8)

Device address (3 digit, range 001-242)
Device type (2 digit) .
For example 001001 03 means smoke detector (type 03) address 001 in zone 001

The device code is the device unique ID on standalone FACP or whole FACP network. So before addressing and
programming devices, below points should be noted:

1. In same zone, in case the devices from different loop or different panel, the device address + device type can not be
same as other device’s. for example: in zone No.1 already has smoke detector address No.1 from loop1, and in this
zone has another smoke detector from other loop or other panel, the device address can not be No.1 again. Or if use
address No.1, can not given to smoke detector.

2. Device information transferred on network include :

“Device zone number + Device address + Device type (number only, no text)+ device location description.
So the zone information must be downloaded to each network panel, if has the user defined device type text, the
description also need download to each panel.

3. Fire alarm signal from network can be use as the local Cause & Effect condition.

4. Local panel can send activation command to network (if sending command option set as enable)
