Outcomes have been on an upward trajectory over the last three years by the end of KS2.
At the end of 2018, 80% of pupils met or exceeded expectations in reading, 80% in Writing and 87% in
Number. Overall 69% achieved a ‘GLD’ (Good Level of Development) compared to 71.5% nationally.
Whilst GLD is just below national, individual learning goals are above national figures in all areas.
Phonics outcomes
Phonics outcomes represent a 13% improvement over 3 years and remain above national.

KS2 outcomes in 2018 are above national at the expected standard + and higher standard + in reading,
maths and EGPS but equal or just below in writing. In reading and maths, pupils achieved greater than
average progress compared to pupils with similar starting points nationally (Reading +2.4, Maths +3.2)
and in writing, whilst our progress measure is below 0, our progress score is not significantly different
from the national average (-1.2). ‘16 and ‘17 outcomes were Sig–.
To ensure that staff continue to develop and improve in their craft, the Academy operates a structured
programme of monitoring and evaluating the quality teaching, learning and assessment cycle which
includes work sampling, pupil conferencing and lesson observations, which are undertaken by the SLT,
Subject leaders and external consultants.
