GUI Solution:
1. Starting:
(a) Click → start → ANSYS → ANSYS product launcher
(b) Launch – ANSYS Multiphysics
(c) File management → browse the directory for saving and retrieving the files.
(d) Click → run
3. Title:
(a) Utility menu → File → Change title → “Machine part” → ok.
(b) Utility menu → plot → replot
4. Element:
(a) Preprocessor → element type → add → add → structural solid → Brick 8node

5. Material Properties:
(a) Preprocessor → material prop → constant → isotropic → enter the material no as 1 →
ok → enter the following values: EX = 1.65e+05; NUXY = 0.3 → ok.
6. Modeling:
(a) Preprocessor → Modeling → create → areas → rectangle → by center and corner →
enter width = 1000 ; height = 250 → ok.
(b) Preprocessor → Modeling → create → areas → rectangle → by center and corner →
enter width = 200 ; height = 100 → ok.
(c) Preprocessor → Modeling → operate → subtract → areas → select base area → apply
→ select area to be subtracted → ok.
(d) Preprocessor → Modeling → operate → extrude → by xyz offset → areas → select area
→ ok → enter z value as 250 → ok
(e) Utility menu → plotctrl → pan, zoom, rotate → iso → apply.
(f) Utility menu → Work plane → display work plane.
(g) Utility menu → work plane → off set WP by increments → enter x,y,z offset as
500,0,125 → apply. Enter XY, YZ, ZX angles as 0,0,90 → apply.
(h) Preprocessor → Modeling → create → areas → rectangle → by center and corner →
Enter width = 200 ; height = 200 → ok.
(i) Utility menu → work plane → off set WP by increments → Enter XY, YZ, ZX angles
as 0,0,-90 → apply.
(j) Preprocessor → Modeling → operate → extrude → by xyz offset → areas → select area
(200x200) → ok → enter x,y,z values as -1000,0,0 → ok.
(k) Preprocessor → Modeling → operate → subtract → volumes → select base volume →
apply → select volume to be subtracted → ok.
(l) Utility menu → plot → volume.
(m) Utility menu → work plane → offset WP to → global origin.
(n) Meshing → size cntrl → smart size → basic → enter LVL as 1 → ok
(o) Meshing → mesh tool → mesh → volume → pick all → ok

(i) Utility menu → list → nodes → count number of nodes (arranged in bunch of 20)
(j) Main menu → solution → loads → apply → force → on nodes → pickall → ok → enter
Fy = -50000/no. of nodes → ok.
(k) Utility menu → select → everything.
(l) Utility menu → plot → multiplot.
8. Solution:
Main menu → Solution → solve → current LS
9. Post Processing:
Gen. post processor → plot results → nodal solution → stress → von mises → ok.
