3D Modeling of Pulley
Problem: Use ANSYS to create the solid model as shown below.

GUI Solution:

1. Starting:
Click → start → ANSYS → ANSYS product launcher
Launch – ANSYS Multiphysics
File management → browse the directory for saving and retrieving the files.
Click → run

2. Preferences → tick → Structural → select h-method → ok

3. Title:
Utility menu → File → Change title → “3D Pulley” → ok.
Utility menu → plot → replot

4. Modeling:
(a) Main menu → Preprocessor → Modeling → create → keypoint → In active CS → enter
KP no as 1& x,y,z coord as 0,1,blank→ apply → enter KP no as 2 & x,y,z coord as
10,1,blank→ ok
(b) Main menu → Preprocessor → Modeling → copy → keypoints → select KPs 1 & 2 →
ok → no of copies 2; DX = 0, DY = 1; DZ = blank → ok
(c) Main menu → Preprocessor → Modeling → create → keypoint → In active CS → enter
x,y,z coord as 5.25,2,blank→ apply → x,y,z coord as 6.75,2,blank→ ok
(d) Main menu → Preprocessor → Modeling → copy → keypoints → select KPs 5 & 6 →
ok → no of copies 2; DX = 0, DY = 4; DZ = blank → ok
