Indefinite articles: Definite article:

A = used before consonants or a vowel
sounded like a consonant.

beginning with a mute H.

The – is the same for singular and plural
and for all genders.
The First time you speak of something use a/an, but
the next time you repeat that object , we use “the” .
Example: I have a garden. The garden is very nice.
