Creating

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): I would give my students choices by allowing them to pick
which technology they would like to use. They could use a tablet, a computer, or pencil and paper.
Also, they could have the option to work alone, with a partner, or in a group.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will
introduce the SRT activity.
Previously, we will have completed the first section of Charlotte’s Web. We will have learned
strategies to help us comprehend text.

common misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of
differentiation and mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Students will answer the comprehension questions on Kahoot about Charlotte’s Web.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions
and display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☐ Yes
☒ No
Why or why not?
I want students to self-assess how they think they did first.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
Students will reflect on their comprehension of the text and the skills they used to understand the text.
How will the data be used? The teacher will review the data to decide if students are ready to take a
summative assessment on the standard or if the teacher needs to reteach.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity

I am trying to encourage students to self-monitor their progress. By not giving them the answer, I am
allowing the students to reflect and gauge their own understanding of the text.
Reflective Practice:
To extend the activity, students could draw their favorite part of the story using an interactive
presentation tool.
