1. Installation
1.1 Installation via automatic installer.
You receive JoomlaLMS as a file called XXXXX_JoomlaLMS_X.X.X_PRO_unzip1st.zip or
JoomlaLMS_X.X.X_TRIAL_unzip1st.zip. This file contains JoomlaLMS component itself, various
plug-ins and modules for it, this instruction and order information.
1.1.1. You can find joomlalms_helper.php script in the root of this file. This is an automatic
installer that will install JoomlaLMS and all modules for it altogether in one step. You
wouldn’t need to install them one by one.
1.1.2. Upload joomlalms_helper.php file to the root of your Joomla site.
1.1.3. Upload JoomlaLMS package to the root of your Joomla site (don’t unpack it; you only
have to upload the file called XXXXX_JoomlaLMS_X.X.X_PRO_unzip1st.zip or
JoomlaLMS_X.X.X_TRIAL_unzip1st.zip).
1.1.4. Run the file joomlalms_helper.php from your browser. You should type in the URL
according to this pattern: ‘http://yoursite.com/joomlalms_helper.php’. You will see the
following page:

1.1.5. The installer will test your system for proper configuration and you will be able to
proceed the installation once the test is passed. If one of the steps fails to pass you will
get instructions on how to adjust your site’s configuration. If you get messages but can’t
change your configuration at the moment, you can return to this script any other time
and test your configuration again.

1.1.6. You will see the picture as follows. At this step the installer will test your system for the
previous JoomlaLMS version and for JoomlaLMS package accessibility in the root of your
site.

1.1.7. To proceed the installation, click the ‘Next’ button. At this step LMS component and the
necessary plug-ins and modules will be installed. This step can take from 10 second up
to 2 minutes depending on the hardware of your server.
1.1.8. After the installation you will see the page as shown on the following picture. You will be
able to see the installation status on it.

1.2 Installation via Joomla CMS installer.

1.1.1 The detailed instructions you can find on the following page:
http://www.joomlalms.com/lms_help/task,view_by_id/id,35/
1.1.2 Unpack JoomlaLMS package to a local directory.
1.1.3 Log in into Joomla Backend (type in the URL ‘http://yoursite.com/administrator’) to
access the administrator’s interface. You have to have the privileges of
Administrator/SuperAdministrator to install the components.

1.1.4 Click ‘Installers’ -> ‘Components’ in the top menu.

1.1.5 In the ‘Upload Package File’ section select the file 'com_joomla_lms.zip'. This is the
package file which contains all files for the JoomlaLMS component located on your
computer (see Step 1.2.2). Now click the 'Upload File & Install' button. Since the size of
the zip file is about 3 MB, you will have to wait a moment while the file is being
uploaded and unpacked to your server. If the uploading process takes too long try Step
1.2.6.
1.1.6 The backup alternative: You can unpack the contents of 'com_ joomla _lms.zip' and
upload those files to a remote directory using the FTP connection. Then on the server
specify the directory where you want to install the files from and click 'Install'.
