I 308 electronic engines

The I308 engine is the electronic engine, using the latest HEUI (Hydraulically actuated
Electronically controlled Unit Injection) technology, to power a new range of generating sets.
These new P160H to P275HE generating sets will replace the present P160 TO P275E models.

The move to electronic engine control has been necessary for a number of reasons. Most
importantly to meet forthcoming emission requirements and to meet customer requests for
engines that can interface with equipment control systems.

Parts identification is through Parts books and DART, and parts are supplied as usual through
your GENPART® Channel.

Initial Dealer Parts Stock Recommendations to support the new electronic engines are available
from our After Sales Marketing Department, as are Recommended Parts Lists for End Users.
These indicate suggested parts required for various running times (e.g. 1000 hours, 2500hours).

ENGINE CONTROL MODULE: The engine control module

The Engine Control Module is highly reliable with a failure rate (ECM) and injectors are only
lower than 250 parts per million. It has no serviceable parts and available on service exchange
should never be replaced without carrying out a full diagnostic basis
test. All returned units are automatically tested. Experience in
the USA has shown that 95% of returns are actually non-faulty.
The Engine Control Module is effectively the last component
which you should expect to be faulty. Dealer places order

NEW SERVICE SOLUTIONS

Due to the high oil pressures that occur in the engines, it is important to use the correct specification of lubricating oil.

RECOMMENDED OIL SPECFICATION:- API-CG-4 (ACEA E3)

MIN. OIL SPECIFICATION:- API-CF-4 (ACEA E2)

Please note that failure to use the above oil specification may affect warranty.
