The Handler attaches the baggage from any side and rotates either the lift or
the load 360º to fit where is needed. Lifting fast in poor posture does not
require heavy weights to cause pain and strain injuries.
This type of machine is very user-friendly and does not require any special
training downtime to operate. It is so light and easily managed that working
speed and productivity are maintained or in many cases increased, which is
usually the contrary when using a lifting aid.
The lifting machine offers solutions for loading and unloading baggage from
a chute, conveyor or baggage loader to carts or containers as fast as or faster
than manual handling.

The Vacuum Lifting Equipment consists of 2 main parts which are as follows:
a) the Lift Unit and b) The Electric Pump Unit.
The lift unit is comprises of the flexible lift tube connected to a lift bellows at
the bottom part which will lift the bags by suction. The bottom side also is
connected to the handling control which the operator will use for handling
the bags up and down during the lifting.
On the top side, the lift tube is connected to the hanging rail. The suction
pipe, coming out of the lift tube, is connected to the electric pump unit.
The Electric pump unit is relatively small in size and it comes covered in a
silencing box in order to reduce the noise emitted by the pump. This pump is
connected to the electric power for normal operation.
Fast,
Safe,
Ergonomic,
User-friendly,
Light and flexible,
Higher productivity,
Low investment, and
Low service cost.
At the conveyor belts, 2 lifting units are required per side; i.e. 8 in total;
leaving the potential areas for allocating one more unit at each further
corner of the make-up carrousels (in total 4 more potential units for future
use).
In addition the OOG position where 1 unit will also be required. So,
therefore in total 11 lifting units will have to be provided.

2.1.3 The Out of Gauge Lifter
The OOG lifter will differ slightly from the lifters at the belts, since those
lifters are normally capable of lifting 70 kg, whereas the equipment at the
belts has a lifting capacity of 45 kg.
PART-3 EXECUTION
A. All wall openings and floor foundation shall be coordinated with
architectural and civil works.
B. All Vacuum Lifting machine and equipment shall be installed in a neat
professional manner prior or during to the installation of the Baggage
Handling System.
C. Cable termination connector terminations a binding crimp and that
connectors are secure.
D. Installer should following manufacturer’s installation instruction.
E. All floor supports and fixing shall be provided with anti-vibration rubber
blocks.
F. Power and Control Cable distribution to all lifting equipment shall be
the responsibility of vacuum lifting equipment supplier or contractor.
G. All supports fastenings and securing of the vacuum lifting equipment to
wall, floor, etc. are to be provided.
3.1 INSTALLATION

The distance between each suspension point will be approximately 4m
apart on both profiles, i.e. every 4 meters a suspension point will have
to be attached on the profiles.
Each vacuum pump will need its own power connection. The pumps
should be placed at a corner of each overhead system, so by doing this
the hose length (hose between pump and lifting device) can be reduced.
E. Power sockets will have to be supplied for connections.
3.2 TESTING
3.3 TRAINING
Experience shows that this increases the speed of the operators, as well as
increasing the acceptance of the equipment.
A. Operator Training
Training of three (3) baggage handling operators for a period of one (1)
day, in operation of the vacuum lifting machine.
B. Technical Training
6|Page
Training for three (3) engineers for a period of 1 day, in operation and
maintenance of the system.
