UNICEF Office in Serbia is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of:

UN Youth Volunteer in Youth Engagement


Duration of the assignment: 12 months

Under the direct supervision of Deputy Representative of UNICEF Serbia, the UN Youth Volunteer will undertake the
following tasks:
• Assist in mapping, identification and engagement of key partners for youth from NGOs and private sector;
• Participate and assist in youth-related activities and workshops;
• Support youth programming review and technology analysis to make recommendations on new features,
programmatic development, and maintaining the programme’s relevance to Serbian youth;
• Support digital safety from youth perspective & participation research;
• Identify ways that connectivity of people, processes and data play an inclusive role for the most excluded and
stigmatized young people;
• Support the utilization of the UNICEF Serbia U-Report social monitoring tool.

Required qualifications:
• UN Youth Volunteer must be between 18 and 29 years for the whole duration of the assignment;
• University degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition or international
relations;
• One to two years’ experience in a youth network NGO or government sector, preferably in the field of
emergency response or youth participation;
• Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the field of youth, ICT, development, public/private partnerships;
• Motivation to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others;
• Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
• Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
• Flexibility and openness to learning and new experiences;
• Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
• Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work,
internship) would be highly regarded;
• Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others);
• Excellent speaking and writing skills in both Serbian and English language.
