AN ACTION RESEARCH

ON DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOURS
AND INTERVENTION PLAN
I. Situation:

It is very unfortunate that on a daily basis a teacher have to deal freshmen students
from Sulpicio Lugod Integrated School with their disruptive behaviors in various display
during or even after classes. After thorough class observations yields the following
behaviors like noise in the classroom, intermittent arrivals and departures during
classes, disruptive talking among seatmates, sleeping, wearing non-prescribed
uniforms even shorts by male students, eating at frequent intervals, passing notes,
cheating. This observation is not only felt by the class adviser but also from other
teachers including a certain religion volunteer teacher. These behaviors displayed not
only affect the learning ability of the few interested learners but also the delivery of
the daily competencies at most.

II. Intervention:

1. More PTA meetings so that parents will know the situation and fortunately will help
address the problem.
2. Motivate the parents to talk to their children.
3. Home visits will help address students’ personal problems if there are any.
4. Make learning activities interesting and updated with the use of technology.
5. Creation of officers of the day guarding the gate to monitor tardiness.
6. Creation of the student body to show leadership inside the campus.
7. Launching of a growing up party to establish their status as pre-adolescent
8. Vendors not allowed to sell during classes
9. Motivate the parents to help solve the problem and follow up their children’s personal
activities outside the school.
10. Make learning activities interesting to the students by introducing current technology.

III. Summary:
This holistic research was made to address disruptive behaviours among students, its
causes and interventions. The result of the study revealed that among the class of Grade 7-
Orchids of Sulpicio Lugod Integrated School, 83% or 15 males and 9 females have showed
some disruptive behaviours and mostly slow learners. Lack of discipline, lack of identity
realization as a high school student, no guards on duty in the morning at the gate caused this
problems.
This study recommends the following in solving these issues like creation of officers
of the day (preferably Boy or Girl Scouts) guarding the gate to monitor tardiness, creation of
the student body to show leadership inside the campus, more PTA meetings to help address
issues of students in and outside the campus and give them more motivations in giving
discipline, launching of a growing up party to establish their status as pre-adolescent, offer a
meeting with vendors about proper time of selling foods to children, make learning activities
interesting to the students by using current technology and home visitations.
Finally, success is achievable if all of us has a positive outlook in life.
Poverty, and lack of parents’ follow up and discipline to their children are not the
hindrance of one’s success. If we are determined with ourselves we can, with the help of
parents, produce well-mannered and disciplined students.
