EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the whether companies’ actual
audit fees comply with minimum audit fees , percentage of compliance, whether
CG audit firm and financial statements audit firm similar or not, comparison of
audit fee over the year, audit and non-audit fee comparison, and opinion type
regarding companies. Results of data analyzed show that maximum companies’
audit fees are below MAF(minimum audit fees) that means it is not complying the
criteria, CG audit firm are different in almost all cases, in most cases the audit fees
regarding the company are to some extent increasing, non-audit fees are quite
high. The report finds the overall prospects of these sectors of those companies
are not positive. Though almost all the firms are in unmodified audit opinion
there is a gap of transparency, lack of information, lack of accountability of
management, lack of proper data management. Recommendation for that
industry are improving in information management system, insure transparency
of the organization activities, proper disclosure of information, bringing variation
in appointing audit firm , build a proper system of organizational commitment-
accountibility, and mostly removal of management fraudulence. There is also a
limitation of this report such as lack of proper information, results based on past
performance, personal judgements etc.

We have conducted our study over 24 companies among 27 companies in pharmaceuticals & chemicals
industries, as we do not find annual report of other 2 companies. Among the 24 companies, only 2
companies would comply with the minimum audit fee & another 2 companies would comply with the
minimum audit fee for 1 year & other companies would not comply with the minimum audit fee
.Among the 24 companies , only 8 companies minimum audit fee has been increased in 2017 than
2016,2 companies minimum audit fee has been decreased in 2017 than 2016 and others remain same.
 Minimum audit fee has been increased in {(8/24)*100}=33.3% companies

 Minimum audit fee has been decreased in {(2/24)*100}=8.3% companies
 Minimum audit fee remain same in {(14/24)*100}=58.4% companies

It seems that others fee is much more higher than statutory audit fee over the
years though there is a reduction in the average rate of others fee and increase in
the average statutory audit fee over the years . Actually statutory audit fee is not
comparable to others fee but we have done to show a common difference.
Others fees are higher because they include litigation fee, company secretary fee
etc.
Conclusion:
Finally through the analysis the audit fees and non-audit fees of pharmaceutical
companies’ show that there is incompliance between the statutory audit fees and
minimum audit fees. Almost all of the firms are in unmodified audit opinion there
is a gap of transparency, lack of information, lack of accountability of
management, lack of proper data management. Good corporate governance
guidelines and different steps of government related to auditing may improve the
situation of this sector.
