“Acquaintance party 2015” Lorenzo L. Limketkai II

Last August 3 the high school department had their annual Acquaintance Party, with the unique
theme: “Clash of Class” the Students excitement and enthusiasm were lit up. The students were
grouped according to their class sections, and they competed in many activities such as a chant
competition and lots of games. They also got to see the talents and leadership skills of their
fellow schoolmates.

The most anticipated part of the acquaintance party was the chant competition. Everyone took
this competition seriously and gave their best efforts to make their chants as good as possible.
After everyone got to their positions, final preparations were made and group prayers were
uttered. The first performers began their chant, and all the other classes were marking time in
suspense as they waited for their turn to come.

There were exciting games that were played during the party such as a “Blindfolded Limbo
contest”where contestants would wear blindfolds and the crowd would coach them on how low
they had to limbo to successfully get under and through a bamboo pole. Then there was the “Belt
relay” where contestants were to pass a belt from member to member in as less time as possible
while in a crawling position and “The amazing race” where groups had to finish a lot of tasks in
less time than the other groups order to win. To keep the students actively participating,there was
an ice breaker that all of the sections participated in, where every class was given a short tongue
twister and they had to recite it whenever the emcees called the name of their section. The
winner is the last class standing without a mistake.

The awards given were:

Most disciplined – 9- Truth Chant champion – 10- Justice

Most attentive -10- Knowledge Chant 1st runner up – 9- Truth

Most participative -10- Justice Chant 2nd runner up – 10- Wisdom

Early bird award – 10- Wisdom Best props award – 10- Wisdom
After the activities, everyone’s favorite part came along. The part where everyone eats the food
they have brought to share with their classmates, friends and teachers. This is the time when
most of the “acquainting” actually happens and is the part everyone enjoys the most.

This year’s Acquaintance Party was a success. A lot of people enjoyed it, and they got to know
more about the people whom they will be spending the whole school year with. And with
newfound friends, the students will surely look forward to a better and brighter school year. The
SCC are to be acknowledged for organizing and facilitating the program not to mention the hard
work put together by all of us. We Konghuanians know that there is a time for everything and we
have proved that we know how to have fun and enjoy at the right time and place.
