CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
according to Calmada (2013) “A website that will serve as an online channel for student concerns.
Therefore, the Student Portal is designed with features such as Student Profile to help
students to get filled in regarding the latest school activities, checking their student profile and
grades.
Another information stated by Vangie Beal from an internet article in Webopedia entitled
“Student Portal” A student portal is a commonly used phrase to describe the login page where
students can provide a user name and password to gain access to an education organization's
programs and other learning related materials. For example, a learner who has enrolled in an online
certification program may use a student portal to access online course materials, such as articles,

lectures and videos, hosted on the school's servers. Student portals may be used to provide
information about the school, special events, course details, calendars, academic resources and
contact information. Some student portals may integrate with other systems to provide students
with easy access to personal information, such as as tracking bursary awards and campus medical
insurance.
This study aims to find the purpose and the impact of all things that relates to the study of
STUDENTS IN ASIAN COLLEGE QUEZON CITY CAMPUS” seeks to know the impact of
the student portal to them. Specifically, this research seeks to answer the following questions:
3. What is the impact of student portal to the computer programming students of Asian College?

This study focuses on the grade 11 computer programming students in Asian College
Quezon City. The research sample is composed of thirty (30) students of class COM 181 and
twenty (20) students from COM 182. The primary data gathering method used was likert scale to
determine the impact of student portal to the accessibility of the selected grade 11 computer
programming students. This research used convenience sampling in which where a shared
characteristic among the respondents was applied. The study is delimited to the students of class
Selected Computer Programming Students – The student portal will help the students
Teachers and Administrators – The teachers and administrators will be able to reach and
inform the students anytime instantly due to easy access with the use of announcement.
Future Researchers – The study of today’s researchers will help and contribute to the
future researchers that will also study the same field. They may continue the study or use
