Directions: We have talked about how to be active readers and listeners. Today you will be
practicing how to take ​annotations ​as you listen to me read. Fill in the graphic organizer below
as I read with your thoughts. Use a bullet system and get as much information as you can.

Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing 
inferences from the text. 
 
Determine two or more main ideas of a text and explain how they are supported by key details; 
summarize the text. 
Directions: Fill in the notes section for three important events that happened in the story.
