Apliquick Club
We will be using the book: Happy Flower Quilts by Atsuko Matsuyama. Pick your
favorite project(s), gather your materials and come and sew!
Sherrie and I will be working on the Happy Flower Quilt Sampler shown on the
cover of the book. If you want to sew along, here is a list of things to bring:
Book - Happy Flower Quilts by Atsuko Matsuyama
Fabric
Background for appliqué blocks -
Various low volume fabrics at least 6" x 6". (There are 41 appliqué blocks).
OR if using just ONE background fabric, bring 1 1/2 yards. (More if you plan
to use It in your pieced blocks also)
Scraps for appliqué and pieced blocks.
Items for appliqué blocks
apliquick tools
black mat or a washable work surface
glue pen
fabric glue
Quilter's Select Print and Piece Fuse Lite
serrated scissors
mechanical pencil
(You can bring your own iron, and pad if you want - we have some
available in the classroom).
Items for pieced blocks
freezer paper (if using Sherrie's method for making templates)
small cutting mat
rotary cutter
ruler
paper scissors
sewing machine (don't forget foot pedal, cord, thread, pins, bobbins, etc.)
We'd love for you to share your tips and techniques for apliquick and your
method of making templates.
NOTE: In the book it is suggested you make a copy of the large pattern sheet of
appliqué pieces so you don't cut into the patterns printed on the back. Kinko's can
make large copies. I don't know about Office Depot or Staples.
