El monte Penglai o llamado también Isla Penglai, es un lugar legendario de la

mitología china.

Según el Primer emperador Qin del reino de Qin, esta montaña estaba ubicada
en una isla al este del mar Bohai junto a otras cuatro islas místicas.

En la mitología china considera al monte Penglai como el lugar de reunión entre

el mago inmortal Angi Sheng y los 8 inmortales, todos seres legendarios.

El mago Angi Sheng, el cual en la época del primer emperador tenía más de mil
años, era capaz de hacerse visible o invisible según él lo deseara. Por su parte los
8 inmortales son un grupo de ocho personas que nacieron y vivieron en el mundo
terrenal, dedicándose a la alquimia. Los miembros del grupo rara vez aparecen
por separado y los poderes de cada uno de ellos pueden ser transferidos para
dar la vida o destruir el mal y además representarían aristas de la sociedad tales
como los militares; a los burócratas; los enfermos y heridos; los sabios; la
nobleza; los ancianos; los pobres y las doncellas.

Ellos se reunían en esta montaña a compartir grades banquetes mostrando así

que China se encontraba en paz y calma.

En el monte Penglai según la mitología china, es totalmente blanco y en el hay

árboles con frutos que son capaces de curar a las personas mortales de todas las
enfermedades además pueden obtener al comerlos juventud eterna e incluso
resucitar a los muertos.

En todo el monte existe un sonido en el ambiente de personas comiendo arroz y

vasos de vino que hacen salud sin parar, en seña de prosperidad y abundancia.

En este lugar o se conoce el dolor, el calor o el frio, no existen estaciones de año,

por lo que las personas que han sido elegidas para visitar y vivir en el mote, se
sientes plenas y cómodas paseando tranquilamente por el monte sin necesitar
ropas, medicamentos o temer sobre algo.

A lo largo de la historia, muchos viajeros han intentado llegar hasta esta isla y subir
a la montaña Penglai, arruinar los banquetes entre el mago Angi Sheng y los 8
inmortales, para secuestrarlos y obligarlos a que además entreguen el secreto del
elixir de vida eterna.

Dice la historia que incluso el primer emperador, quien estaba obsesionado con
esta montaña, logró conocer al mago Angi Sheng y converso con el tres días y
tres noches completas, intentando en esa oportunidad comprarle al mago con
oro y piedras preciosas, el secreto del elixir de la vida y la ubicación de la isla,
porque él tenía mucho temor a la muerta, pero el mago se volvió invisible y
escapo hasta la isla. El emperador se enojó y envió a un navegante de nombre
Xu, en su captura. Xu, mientras estaba navegando cerca de la isla, el mago Angi
Sheng, prohibió su desembarco enviándole un monstruo marino, por lo que Xu
debió desviar su viaje.

The Penglai Mountain, also known as Penglai Island, is a legendary place of the
Chinese mythology.

According to the First emperor Qin, this mountain was located in an island ayb the

Penglai Mountain and ruin the banquets of the wizard Angi Sheng and the 8
immortals to capture them and force them to reveal the secret of the eternal life
elixir.

The story tell that even the first emperor, who was obsessed with this mountain,

el mar, en ciertas fechas del año. No obstante no existen registros como
fotografías o videos de personas que hayan logrado entrar en la isla mientras
navegan hasta este reflejo.

Existe además una ciudad de nombre Penglai en China, donde los ciudadanos
aprovechan la fama de la montaña para atraer turistas y decirles que es ese el
lugar donde desembarcan los 8 inmortales y que en esa ciudad viviría el mago
Angi Sheng inmortal, pero esto es como comercial.

En general para la cultura China, el Monte Penglai, representa un lugar sagrado,

por cuanto es el centro de reuniones entre las divinidades de la religión Taotista,
quienes resguardarían el elixir de la vida eterna y mantienen la armonía en el país
a través de estas ceremonias. Además, tienen la esperanza que al seguir
fielmente la religión pudiesen algún día ser invitados hasta la montaña Penglai y
vivir en el paraíso, sin necesitar de nada terrenal, sin enfermedades ni miedos por
toda la eternidad.
