ROBOWARS
Introduction

The Robowar is a competition in which the participating groups have to fight their
robot with the robot of the opponent. In this competition the participating group has
to immobilize its opponent in the arena within the given time. Each robot has got
some advantage over another. It is much similar to old child game “Rock-Paper-
Scissors”. The “Rock” can smash the scissors but can be covered by the “Paper”.
The “Scissors” can cut the “Paper” but can be smashed by the “Rock”. The “Paper”
can cover the “Rock” but can be cut by the “Scissors”.
Problem statement
Design a remote controlled (wired) robot capable of fighting one on one tournament
Dimension Specification

1. The maximum dimension of the robot should be 350x350x350 (mm)

2. The maximum voltage between any two points should not exceed 24V DC

3. The maximum current delivered by the power supply will be 3A.

4. Participants can use their own power supply

5. The weight of the robot should not be more than 5kg.

Mobility of the robot

1. Jumping, hopping and flying movements are not allowed

2. Use of IC engine or the use of combustible products(liquid or gases) are not

allowed

3. Cutting of wires or damaging the opponents circuit is strictly not allowed and
team found doing so will be disqualified

Weapons

Participants can use ramp robot, pushing robot, wedge robot, lifter robot, clamp
robot, thwack robot, spinning robot, saw robot, cutter robot, drum robot, hammer
robot, spear robot, crusher robot. Some of the weapon may cause serious injuries so
they are not allowed in the competition, which includes-

1. Flame throwing

2. Un-tethered projectiles, tethered projectiles

3. Flame throwing

4. Liquid projectile

5. EMP generator

6. Tesla coil or any other device of same nature

Any attempt to damage the arena will be taken as a serious offense and the
team will be disqualified

Competition structure

1. A robot is declared victorious if its opponent is immobilized. A robot will be

declared immobile if it cannot display linear motion of at least five inch in a timed
period of 30 seconds
2. If both the robots are in moving condition then the winner will be decided by ‘no
of hits’ round. The round will last for 90 seconds and the winner will be decided
by the no of hits (which includes direct dash, any kind of weapon which hits the
enemy robot). The participant which has the maximum number of hits will be the
winner
3. If the robot enters the black hole* completely and is not able to come out of it
within 30 seconds then the opponent will be considered as the winner.

*Black hole will be a pit which can be present anywhere in the arena.

4. The maximum duration for a single match is 6 min

5. The elimination round and quarter finals will be on the first day and
semifinals and finals will on the second day.

General Rules

1. The competition will be played on knock-out basis

EESA CRCE

2. The machine would be inspected for its safety, weight and dimensions before
the competition and would be discarded if found unsafe for other participants
3. Violation of any the above rules will lead to disqualification
4. All the wires should be properly arranged so they do not interfere in the
competition
5. Judges' decision shall be treated as final and binding on all

Team specifications

1. Each team can have maximum of 4 members including the team leader. Team
may include students from different institutions
2. There can be multiple participations from the same institution
3. The registration charge for a team is 40

E-High stacks
Description:

‘Blindfold-Logic’ is a fun event consisting of where participants come in a group of 2.

The event consists of 5 stages where the participants will have to co-ordinate to get
through to the next stage. The four stages will be as follows-

Stage 1-

One of the participants is blindfolded. The blindfolded participant will then maneuver
a robot through a track with instructions from the other participant. The robot will be
provided.

Stage 2-

The participants will choose two logic questions from a jar and will have to solve it
within 2 minutes each. The participants will be given a penalty of 1 min if they don’t
solve the question in time.

Stage 3-

A ‘word search’ game where the participants will have to find out answers to the
questions from the jumble of words.

Stage 4-

Another event where the participants will have to maneuver a robot and then have to
score a ‘GOAL’ by pushing a ball through the marked area. If one participant fails
then the other one will be given a chance to score. If both fail to score then a penalty
of 1 minute is awarded. The robot will be provided.

Stage 5-

A loop game, where the participants have to take a small loop of wire around a
conducting rod without touching the same.

If the first participant fails to complete in a minute, the second participant gets a
chance and if both don't complete, the group gets a penalty of 1 minute.

*Robots for E-High stacks event will be provide by the organizers

Description:

The team will be provided with a circuit diagram (eg.12v power supply) with some
mistakes in the circuit (eg. some components missing, some misplaced, etc). The
team has to verify the mistake and immediately bring it to the event heads. They will
be then provided with a bread-board and the required components to design the
circuit and get the correct output. The team taking minimum estimated time for the
two stages is the winner.

Score Criteria:

Less Complicated, Correct Output, Accuracy and Speed. Half the points for 1st stage
