The F Series Volume control dampers are designed for use in high, medium and
low velocity and pressure applications. This flange type volume control damper
is popularly used in 90% of air handling applications in view of their robust
construction. These dampers come with multi leaf Aluminium extruded profile
or multi leaf G I blades. These dampers facilitate the opening of damper
minimum to maximum through a hand operated quadrant to adjust the air
flow in the duct. Jamb seals are provided in the damper for very low air leakage
applications. Blade opening is controlled by hand operated quadrant or by
electric motor.

Entries are half round
Acoustic infill
Inorganic, non hygroscopic, flame, moisture and vermin proof mineral fibre of 48 kg/cu.m
density properly filled to achieve required acoustic performance. Packed under compression to
prevent the formation of voids due to settling.
Joints
End flanges are joined by corner pieces and flanges are lock formed to the outer frame of sound
attenuator. Splitters are riveted to the outer casing of attenuator.
Sealant
Any UL listed or equivalent brand.
End connections
Roll formed steel angle flanges, spigot connections or any other appropriate prefabricated
flange.
Hostile environments
In moisture or grease laden or fumes exposed environment the acoustic infill may be envel-
oped in ici melinex of glass clothing to facilitate periodic cleaning. This protective layer does
not affect the acoustic performance of attenuator and prevent the possibility of progressive
particle migration. Hence this can be recommended in high hygiene requirement areas like
hospitals, food production areas and laboratories.

General description
RIGID Variable Air Volume boxes are designed to
achieve variable air volume supply of conditioned air
to a room in single duct constant volume air distribu-
tion systems. Variable air volume control is achieved
by directing air flow either to a room or to a bypass
plenum. Air flow direction is controlled by opening
and closing of damper blade with direct response to
signals from the thermostat in conditioned space. In
RIGID VAV box the primary air damper works in
connection with bypass port damper. As the primary
damper blade closes, bypass port damper blade
opens and vice versa so that constant volume air is
supplied by air terminal and varying amounts of air is Fig. 7-1
delivered to the room and bypass plenum.

LINEAR BAR GRILLES & REGISTERS
Linear bar grilles are architecturally beautiful and robust in construction. They are suitable for
supply and return air applications where the air volume requirements are medium and high.
They are best suited for side wall mounting applications but they may be used in other
applications like false ceiling, sill and floor mounting. Hospitals, shopping malls, auditoriums
are typical applications of these bar grilles.
Outer frame is extruded aluminium section (alloy 6063 – T6 temper) cut to length and joined
at corners. Blades are made of extruded aluminium section(alloy 6063 –T6 temper) with
multidirectional flow as shown in fig 10.2a,10.2b and 10.2c.Front horizontal blades are fixed
type and rigid constructed and assembled in frame. The rear vertical blades are adjustable
and assembled to the outer frame with nylon bushes for rattle free operation. Registers are
supplied with opposed blade volume control dampers.
RBG-DDTB: This bar grille is supplied with front horizontal two way type fixed blades(fig
10.2a) and rear vertical adjustable blades(fig 10.1)
RBG-DDOB: This bar grille is supplied with front horizontal one way type fixed blades(fig
10.2b) and rear vertical adjustable blades(fig 10.1)

Outer frame and inner frame are extruded aluminium sections(6063 alloy-T6 temper)cut to
length and joined.
Slot blades are made of extruded aluminium section(6063 alloy-T6 temper)
They are suitable for supply and return air distribution in all air handling applications.
They are suitable for false ceiling
RIGID brand Linear slot diffusers are available in 1 to 6 slots and in slot widths of 16mm,
20mm and 25mm.
These slot diffusers are generally used in room with heights approximately 2.5m to 4.0m
for supply or return air.
This slot diffuser provides a stable discharge and can be used for constant or variable
volume air flows.
Air flow rate control is provided by an integral flow straightener and hit and miss
damper adjustable from diffuser face.
Slot arrangement will provide 180 deg adjustable air diffusing patterns.
