Resumen
Esta investigación es el resultado de percibir la necesidad de un espacio permanente que permita el
acercamiento a la cultura silletera, Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de Colombia desde 2015. Es así
como se propone un equipamiento que en los últimos años ha tomado fuerza por su didáctica y manera
de permitir la conexión entre el visitante y lo expuesto: un centro de interpretación.

Se trata de una investigación cualitativa realizada por medio de la hermenéutica, basando la búsqueda
en textos españoles, debido a la experiencia cultural de este país. También se utilizaron textos
referentes a los silleteros, resultado de investigaciones hechas en Medellín. Y finalmente se recurrió al
uso de la entrevista, para tener de primera mano información sobre los silleteros.

En primer lugar, se hará referencia de la historia de los silleteros, en qué consiste su cultura y cómo
permanece en Medellín, la segunda ciudad más importante del país. Se dará definición del concepto de
centro de interpretación y en qué consiste este nuevo modelo museístico. Así mismo, se analizará la
importancia de los silleteros como atractivo turístico y como identidad regional.

Por último, se hará la descripción del centro de interpretación de los silleteros, qué debería contener y
cuáles serían las herramientas de comunicación a utilizar para que cumpla con su objetivo.

Abstract
This investigation is the result of perceiving the need for a permanent space that allows the approach to
the culture of the Colombian intangible cultural heritage since 2015. This is how it proposes an
equipment that in recent years has been strengthened by its didactic and way to allow the connection
between the visitor and the exposed: an interpretation center.

This qualitative research was carried out through hermeneutics basing the search on Spanish texts, due
to the cultural experience of this country. Texts referring to the silleteros were also used, as a result of
research done in Medellín. And finally resorted to the use of the interview, to have first
hand information about the silleteros.

First, reference will be made to the history of the silleteros, in what their culture consists and how they
stay in Medellin, the second most important city in the country. The concept of an interpretation center
will be defined and what this new museum model consists of. Likewise, the importance of silleteros as
a tourist attraction and as a regional identity will be analyzed.

Finally, the description of the center of interpretation of the silleteros will be made, what it should
contain and what the communication tools would be used to achieve its objective would be.
