Coincidence, Synchronicity and Signs

Firstly, let we make differentiation between coincidence, synchronicity, and signs. Coincidence is a term
of surprising concurrence of events, perceived as meaningfully related, with no apparent causal
connection. Synchronicity, means a meaningful sequence of events that happen when they seemingly
unrelated events in improbable ways that have some sort of significance and can only be explained by a
phenomenon of energy. While, sign, is information sent to you by the universe to get you to understand
something, take action on something, or become aware of something that could affect your life. It is
designed for us to perceive and take action upon. They’re different, yet corresponded to each other. Any
given set of coincidences may be just a form of synchronicity that being the experience of events which
are causally unrelated, and yet their occurring together carries signs to the person who observing the
events.

As an intuitive person, I tend to gather all of the signs around me, connect them, see the pattern, then
capture the big picture of them. If this a bit strange for you, I totally get it. I used to be a bit skeptical
myself. It isn’t until you open your mind up to the possibility that everything is happening for you that
your perception of signs changes. At some point you can no longer question the clear messages you’re
receiving. It just takes a bit more awareness and the willingness to receive them. In Islam perspective,
Allah SWT guides us as to what we should reflect on and investigate. With the methods of reflection
given in the Quran, he who has faith in Allah SWT will better perceive Allah SWT's perfection, eternal
wisdom, knowledge and power in His creation. When a believing person starts to think in the way shown
in the Quran, he soon realizes that the whole universe is a sign of Allah SWT's power and art, and that,
"nature is a work of art, not the artist itself". Every work of art exhibits the exceptional skills of the one
who has made it and conveys his messages.
Therefore, the signs of Allah SWT comprise all the beings in the universe that disclose and communicate
the being and attributes of Allah SWT. Those who can observe and remember will see that the entire
universe is only composed of the signs of Allah SWT.

What I’ve learned from the Universe is that it never works randomly, and thoughts become things. So
I dismiss using "coincidence" itself since I know that everything happens for reason.

trying-to-tell-you-something/

“Everything happens for reason.”

One day, on our way home, my father randomly told me that he wanted me to meet his friend’s son.
Just a meeting, he said. My father told nothing unless his educational background, and his age, I knew
that he’s at the same age like me. That’s all. But at that time, I didn’t take my father words seriously. I
thought he’s just joking.

Few months passed, and there’s still no action. That makes me believe that my father was joking at that
time. Until one day, my brother was accepted in a college which is about 1000 km away from home. It so
unpredictable, we never think that it’d happened. We have no preparations, like at all. We also have no
relatives who lives in that city. So that our parents told my brother to find a friend that’s also accepted
in the same university like him and have relatives in there, in case of something unexpected happened,
it’ll be easier for us to stay connected.

In short, my brother found a friend who has relatives who lives in that city (his aunt family). Then, my
parents contact her, and recognize her as my father’s old friend in Senior High School. After long
conversation, we arrange a meeting when we arrive in there.

The first meeting was nice. They’re very welcome and warm to us. In the next day after the meeting, my
father told me that they are “that guy” parents. Yes, the guy whom my father want me to meet him few
months ago.
I was so speechless, but I tried hard not to take it seriously. said to myself that it’s just a random
thingsthat accidentally happened, people probably experience the exact same things too. So, I let it
faded out of my mind.

Two months later, my family and I decide to visit my brother again. And the second meeting with his
family was happened. This time, I met him unpredictably, in an unpredictable place, unpredictable time.
At the first time we met, I really had no idea what to do, neither does he. He looked shocked, me either.
I think both of us didn’t expect this meeting. It’s too awkward, yet funny at the same time.

Just so you know, I never believe in “coincidence”. Also, in Islam it’s clear that there’s no coincidence.
“Coincidence” is just a term of human's inability to understand Allah SWT's purpose. As a faithful
servant, we have to aware about His signs. By heeding the signs of every occurance, we’d find profound
meaning of every single events that occur and take lessons from them. As Allah SWT said:

“There is certainly a sign in that for people who reflect. He has made the night and the day subservient
to you, and the sun, the moon and the stars, all subject to His command. There are certainly signs in that
for people who use their intellect. And also the things of varying colors He has created for you in the
earth. There is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. It is He who made the sea subservient to
you so that you can eat fresh flesh from it and bring out from it ornaments to wear. And you see the
ships cleaving through it so that you can seek His bounty, and so that perhaps you may show thanks. He
cast firmly embedded mountains on the earth so it would not move under you, and rivers and pathways
so that perhaps you might be guided, and landmarks. And they are guided by the stars. Is He Who
creates like him who does not create? So will you not pay heed? (Surat an-Nahl: 10-17)”

Then, if everything happened for reason. The question should be “why?”. Why him? Why me? And
another why(s). So that, I think “why” is the point of the story.

If I cite Carl Jung statement, all of these sequence of events called synchronicity, or some sort of
significance of the events and can only be explained by a phenomenon of energy.

This is interesting, because he use “energy” in his explanation . As Einstein said, energy cannot be
created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another. As we know, everything in the
universe will keep their energy level stable by receiving or giving their energy from or to another. They
will approach each other automatically to receive or to give some energy. So does people.

We meet different people in each day for purpose, not just for coincidence. Everyday, we help each
other to reach their “energy stability”. That mens, our meeting is not just for nothing. We have to
appreciate every single person that come into ourlives from now.
