Conclusion

In conclusion, designing of wings of an aircraft must take into consideration several criteria
for deciding materials depends on the type and class of the aircraft being designed. The type and
class of the aircraft determine how strong it must be built which can vary from fighter jets to
commercial airplanes.
A fighter jet must be fast, maneuverable, and equipped for attack and defense. Therefore,
the wings of fighter jets have a very strong structure as the materials used for the wings are
composites. The commercial airplanes are used for transporting passengers and carry cargo. Thus,
the wings of the aircraft are made from aluminium alloys as it has light weight and excellent fatigue
and toughness.
In addition, the structure of the wing of an aircraft is created from several different
components. This is because each of these components needs to support different loads and
frictions, thus, the right material needs to be selected.
Overall, the different types of aircraft, the different materials are be selected depends on
its functions, loads and durability.
