The grain stocks estimates in this report are based on surveys conducted during the first two weeks of
September. Data provided by Oklahoma and Texas operators are the foundation of the estimates made for the
Southern Plains region. Separate surveys are conducted to obtain the on-farm and off-farm estimates. We would
like to thank all operators who responded to the survey.

Texas off-farm sorghum stocks totaled 6.62 million bushels. On-farm stocks totaled 120 thousand bushels on
September 1, 2018.
Texas off-farm corn stocks, at 25.2 million bushels, were up 11 percent from last year. On-farm stocks are not
published for the state.

U.S. Highlights: Old crop corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2018 totaled 2.14 billion bushels, down
7 percent from September 1, 2017. All wheat stored in all positions on September 1, 2018 totaled 2.38 billion
bushels, up 5 percent from a year ago. Old crop grain sorghum stored in all positions on September 1, 2018
totaled 34.9 million bushels, up 4 percent from a year ago. Old crop soybeans stored in all positions on
September 1, 2018 totaled 438 million bushels, up 45 percent from September 1, 2017.
